***Official Political Discussion Thread***

I've found out a few very well educated and nice people i know are going to vote for trump. The main reason seems to be that they hate Hillary. Absolutely hate her and also vote repubican in general. They basically seem to be voting against the status quo and feel that the system is broken. These are people doing relatively well financially.

What surprised me most was one said if bernie was running against trump he would have votes for Bernie. Whole election is causing friction in the workplace at times.

Just let them know that they might not get anything in return for their vote:

When The Post’s Matea Gold reported this week that the Trump campaign is contesting $767,000 that its pollster Tony Fabrizio says he is owed, I could feel the Republican consultant’s pain.

Fabrizio was just the latest on a long list of people stiffed by Donald Trump. And now you can add one more to that list: me. I want my $49 back.

I know, I know. We had all been warned that Trump doesn’t make good on his commitments. Scores of times as businessman and candidate he has refused to pay, or deliver, what he owes. Heck, he’s even being sued for stiffing USA Freedom Kids, the three preteen girls who danced before one of his rallies in patriotic costumes.

So I should have had my eyes wide open when I saw Trump’s video last week offering to put my name on a brass plaque on a wall in Trump Tower, for a contribution of only $49. “The wall has only space for 2,000 more supporters. Contribute today,” he said, showing the “very special” wall.

Only a week and a half away from the election!

They don't sound like smart ppl but I dunno maybe you're not conveying their reasoning well enough.

Not presidential material with that choice

It's just a joke guys

I was really being a pundit by suggesting Trump has no chance. The polls have tightened mostly because of republicans coming home, and these reports about how in the tank the FBI is for Trump, the voter suppression stuff in NC, black turnout down.... hmmm

So Trump is a heavy under dog, but he's probably got a better chance of winning than a team down 3-1 in the world series. :lol

I'm voting for Her.

Jill Stein :hat

Yes Sir. :smokin

I want to be on the right side of history.

If I was in a battleground state, I would reluctantly vote for Hillary but I am in CA so my vote doesn't count. I rather have my Presidential vote go to a 3rd party. My parents, friends, and actually quite a lot of people I spoke to are doing the same.

As Susan Sarandon eloquently stated about Hillary...

She does not support the $15 minimum wage.

She shows no support for legalizing marijuana.

She supports TPP.

She has sold fracking and Monsanto.

She supports offshore drilling.

She has no position on the Dakota Access Pipeline.

She opposes the labeling of GMOs.

She opposes the breakup of big banks.

She takes lobbyists' money for campaigning.

She opposes a binding climate treaty.

She supports unconditional military aid to Israel.

It's clear a third party is necessary and viable at this time. And this is the first step in accomplishing this end.

Until you change your voting rules a third party is neither necessary nor vital, they are a spoiler, pure and simple.

How about this, if you are so concerned about the progressive policy agenda, vote in mid terms, vote for state senators...tell your friends to do the same.

The far right took over the republican party this way, no reason the far left can't do the same.

Until I see Sarandon stumping for people in a state legislator races she can just chill with her spoiler vote. :lol

Jill Stein also likes to flirt with those anti-vaccination people and believes that WiFi radiation is affecting America's children

Hey osh kosh bosh osh kosh bosh ... You live in Toronto? How are the natives there dealing with the Syrian refugees? Is everything going ok relatively speaking? I never see or hear reports of crazy things happening especially since they took on more than they said they would...

Saw an awesome feature on Crown Pastries in Scarborough that's owned & operated by Syrian refugees that came over in '09 or '10... Their business is doing well...
