Our news just reported this. It's in Dutch and the google translate version is awful so I'll summarize it.
Investigations have been launched in Turkey against several Belgians with Turkish heritage or dual nationality. For the most part without the knowledge of these people. They became aware through others that the Turkish police is looking for them and will either take them in for questioning or arrest and imprison them if they returned to Turkey. One of the victims has a second house in Turkey and traveled there every 2 months but was awared that the police had shown up at his residence to arrest him. Luckily he was not in Turkey at that time. His attorney said the charges are "insulting a head of state and treason".
The man says he has recently posted numerous criticisms and public insults towards Erdogan and the Turkish government on Facebook.
Another man with dual nationality living in Ghent also became aware, by chance, that there is an investigation against him in Turkey but does not know the charges. It is unclear how these Belgian citizens became targets for Turkish authorities.
The Turkish embassy has been contacted to explain the situation but declined to comment. Citizens have been warned against traveling to Turkey because there may be investigations and/or arrest warrants against them in Turkey without their knowledge.

Looks like they're actively trying to purge people who don't even live in Turkey anymore. The common denominator seems to be insulting a head of state and treason/terrorism, which in Erdogan's case amounts to people who don't like him and/or "Gülen supporters." The latter not necessarily having anything to do with the Gülen movement.

This. The more stuff that comes out the more I really wonder if the domestic policies being pushed by these ****heads are really in our best interests or Russia's, as they'd want this country to look like a **** hole. I think the reach and scope of this whole investigation will be shockingly large.
