***Official Political Discussion Thread***

This crap is the same kind of trials they give black men when they lock us up on bogus charges
Cant submit evidence and judges wont allow us to bring witnesses
Get this BS over with and let that crook ruin the country

If the claim is true that SDNY has refused to meet with Parnas, that makes sense to me. In a previous hearing, prosecutors told the judge that additional charges for Parnas and Fruman were "likely."
The subpoenas issued by SDNY and the people they've been interviewing recently support the inference that they're building a larger case against Parnas and Fruman before entering in plea/cooperation discussions. I'm no prosecutor or lawyer, but the logical strategy to me here would be to gather all you can on a criminal target first. When you have a full deck to play with, that's when you show your hand at the negotiation table.

America’s political and economic system is laissez-faire capitalism combined with cosmopolitan liberalism. It is a massive death machine with a rainbow paint job.

Trump wants the death machine repainted with an American flag paint job. Bernie wants to shut down the death machine.

Liberals are like, I can’t tell either of them apart.

Oh my, did this mofo just say sovereign god?! Oh, this about to be some bullspit. A black man saying it as well? Trump is gonna walk scott free.

  • Bernie is one of the most well-liked political figures in the country and one of the least disliked. The opposite was true of Hillary.
  • Bernie has been perhaps the most consistent national political figure in terms of his politics over the course of decades. There's been remarkably little rhetorical or substantive policy flip-flopping that an opponent might exploit. Hillary was basically the opposite of that.
  • Bernie's platform is clearly and very firmly grounded in his political consistency. There's no reason to distrust his platform or his commitment to it. Hillary faced the opposite problem.

the states that determine presidential elections in the Midwest and South are considerably less progressive than the places where Bernie is the most popular

the Bernie argument is basically there are twice as many "disaffected leftist" voters who won't turn out except for someone like Bernie, than there are independent swing voters who would vote for a moderate Dem but not a socialist or social Dem, or whatever term Bernie uses to describe himself that will sound exactly like socialist to the average voter

a majority of Americans won't take the time to learn his positions and evaluate how they are impacted by them, just like they didn't with Hillary. They will hear the word “socialist" and run for the hills

voter enthusiasm matters and Bernie's biggest obstacle lies here: some/most of Warren's supporters see him as the next best choice but for the supporters of every other candidate he is their last choice

not suggesting there's no electoral path for Bernie because who knows for sure. I just know I don't have nearly that much faith in the US electorate

Fellas, please don't get discouraged by the impeachment sham or fall into Russia's trap of the circular firing squad on the democratic nominees. We have our chance to save our country in November. I implore you to donate to the opponents of Collins, McSally, Ernst and Gardner. I also encourage you to vote, register others to vote and donate to organizations that are fighting voter suppression. I don't know about you guys but I'm pumped. I am ready to take our country back from the pedophile supporting, kid caging, immoral, greedy, sacrilegious DEPLORABLES. Who's with me?

You are just being dense for the sake of being dense my dude.

No one made an argument even remotely close to that.

In fact you are kinda proving our point.

Update on the alleged hacking of Jeff Bezos' phone by MBS. The forensic report claims the malware that compromised Bezos' phone was included in a message to Bezos by MBS' personal Whatsapp account. Notably, Jared Kushner is also known to communicate with MBS via Whatsapp and refuses to let WH staff handle the phone for records keeping purposes. Instead, Kushner simply provides screenshots of his Whatsapp communications to comply with records keeping laws.
WSJ is now reporting that sources close to MBS confirm there was a plan to hack Bezos' phone.
As mentioned yesterday, AMI (National Enquirer) published the hacked files and was accused by Jeff Bezos of trying to extort/blackmail him before publishing them. AMI denies engaging in a blackmail scheme, denies Saudi involvement and insists they got the files from an estranged brother of Bezos.

the rural areas in the south are backwards but the big cities are more liberal

If you can’t trust comfortably middle and upper middle class suburbanites to vote Dem then you must bring in new voters. You bring in new voters. You bring in gig economy workers, warehouse workers, restaurant and hospitality workers, retail workers, office workers who make less than $20 an hour. You bring in the actual working class to whom the Republican Party, the Democratic Party and the Mainstream media never speak.

Also, don’t buy the line that the Midwest is against left policy ideas. Any Klobuchar would have you thinking that everyone in theMidwest is a lawyer who has generational wealth but that’s not true. The Midwest, the South, the West, the Northeast are mostly populated by workers who have hitherto, correctly made the assessment that major political parties don’t care about them. Activate a fraction of those workers

Sorry but pretty much every Bernie-Trump comparison is done in bad faith.

Capital loves to conflate criticism of the wretched material conditions it creates with its cosmopolitan window dressing.

So clearly you need to place the word white in front here, as the black people in this category are already voting for democrats.
