Trump DOJ officials stonewalled literally everything the (Republican) Texas prosecutors tried to do. Worth a full read.

Excerpts:

After being notified of a potential indictment, Walmart went over the heads of the Texas US Attorney's Office and successfully got top Trump DOJ officials to block the prosecution. They then sent a non-prosecution letter to Walmart.

Two months later, the prosecutors tried again.

Rosenstein made a joke and left shortly after. Trump officials again shot down the potential prosecution.

The prosecutors then moveed on to their next option. Instead of pursuing the company as a whole, they sought to indict a mid-level manager involved in the scheme. Trump officials again intervened to block the prosecution.

The head of the DOJ criminal division told the prosecutors they had a good civil case, which they then pursued. However, Trump officials intervened to stonewall that avenue as well.

I got older folks I know who’d identify a piece of news/info as fake news when it’s completely the opposite just so it makes them feel good that the Bigot they’re supporting is doing wonders.

it’s that sad, false sense of pride or ego clouding their judgement, and these WERE the people I looked up to growing up. Same annoying folks at parties I went to before that fully support Duterte, but have yet to go back to the homeland to experience life over there.

I hope they make it to the elections alive to cast their vote.
