***Official Political Discussion Thread***

The Ezra Klein show is the best political podcast out there, maybe the best informative podcast period. It is not a roundtable discussions, it is him interviewing policy experts, writers, economist, and politicians. He interviews people from all over the political spectrum.

You should read his long form articles too. He probably understands American politics better than 99.9% of the pundits out there.

couldn't agree more. dude is a solid interviewer. as you mentioned, his guests represent a wide political spectrum. usually I wouldn't care to listen to an interview with a far right, conservative but Klein has a good way of remaining neutral while also asking questions that challenge and push-back.

I'll listen to his episodes while out for a long run, it's definitely good stuff.

I wanna get hired to a retail job in a MAGA town just so I can hit a anti mask customer with a two piece. Dude at Starbucks got a $100k GoFundMe for dealing with a customer who didn't wanna wear a mask. I knock dude out, go viral, become famous enough to smash Shapiro's sister for the culture, then get that GoFundMe $$$

Biden has chosen his running mate.

I think it'll be Rice or Whitmer.

Kamala or Bass would be my pick though.

Sometimes he frustrates me because I know he can destroy someone's argument in an instant :lol, but he shows restraint everytime and ask great question to often leads people to concede there is some error in their way of thinking.

I really appreciate as a white progressive dude, he doesn't try to push racism to the background of the discussions. That he feels it is something more people need to reckoning with.

And as a general recommendation to this thread, he has had some great interviews this year, but his recent one with Bryan Stevenson is outstanding, and everyone should liste...

Me and Stevenson probably agree on a lot, but the reason Stevenson give for his positions is always insight and illuminating. Dude is in that next level of human being that I aspire to.

Just moved back to Minneapolis recently and had the distinct pleasure of voting for two democratic socialists in the primary today—Ilhan Omar (of course), and Omar Fateh, who's making a strong run at a state senate seat :smokin

RustyShackleford RustyShackleford I read Ezra Klein's book at your suggestion. It was a good read, and I look forward to having some fruitful discussions about it :smokin

Kamala Harris literrally offers nothing,

I can't even begin to imagine what potential benefit she would provide.

literally all downside.

where I’m at

Pros: Not a republican
Cons: Cop

the enemy of my enemy is my friend tho. so here we are.

I don’t think any of them add or detract from his campaign significantly. It’s really a matter of picking who will be running for President in 2024.

Edit: I just realized they already published the tentative speaker lineup for the DNC. Harris is the only person being considered for VP that’s on there, so it’s most likely her.

You were saying it was Warren before that, when the buzz was Harris. You just don’t want him to choose a Black woman so you can whatabout.

I want him to choose a black woman.

I just think he might have the unmitigated gall to choose a white woman instead.

When the buzz was Harris, many were also talking Warren. Klobuchar dropped out of consideration and said it should be a woman of color--but that is not enough. It should be a black woman, period. Even if it isn't Harris.

Man look at this ******** :rollin :rollin :rollin

The dude voting for a white male bigot with a white male bigot running mate, wants to pull someone's card :lol

Man shut up

Biden just needs to pick someone who will make Pence uncomfortable in the debates.

Obvious choice:
