Turned in my ballot the other day and saw so many Biden/Harris signs that I really couldn't believe it. My state is a traditionally red state, so it might have been an outlier but it was encouraging to see. Glad my state also has a tracking system for your ballot so they notify you at every step. I wish that was something implemented nationwide, would reduce some of the anxiety people have about their ballots and all the shenanigans the GOP are trying to constantly push.


Quick aside - I saw a brother walking to put his ballot in and he had a "fill that seat" shirt. I assume he was voting for Trump, he had the "look". Made me think of this thread, lol.

The exceptions: low-income Hispanic districts (where Trump is doing better than '16)

That's kinda funny until you sit down and think about it.
They most likely:
- are immigrants from left-leaning south/central american countries
- have associated the corruption within the governments of their original countries to socialism.
That makes them prime targets for the "Democrat=socialist" talking point the Right loves to peddle.

Someone stole my neighbor Biden sign last night. She’s a super nice lady in her 60s who is essentially living alone. I felt bad for her. What’s wrong with people. I put my sign out today finally to see if anyone try and ****s with it. I have two big protective dogs that always have eyes and ears on the front of my house.

American political parties are actually many smaller political factions frankensteined together. The winner take all system of american elections encourages the amalgamation of parties that has lead to the 2 party system. The larger parties eventually absorb the smaller ones that align most with their ideals out of a mutual desire to appeal to the majority of the electorate that will place them in power. We have to change how our elections work in order to change this.

To those who are not aware of the ebbs and flows of US political alliances throughout the last century, this is such a hard concept to grasp.

Why minority voter participation matters

If people of color voted at the rate as white voters, who gets elected would immediately change.

Legal barriers have contributed to limiting voter turnout among people of color. But if people of color voted at the rate of white voters, it would immediately alter who gets elected and what policies they pursue.

The only way this reactionary version of the GOP is viable electorally is because of voter suppression of minority groups.
