What I still after all this time cant understand is how so many lower class Americans support a billionaire when every other billionaire seems to be an enemy nowadays?

Probably because the other side has also pushed a narrative that he’s not a “real” billionaire and he is looked down upon by the NY elite. That narrative likely resonates with the voters you describe.

Many posts in here are calling Trump broke and in debt. Surely many lower class (as you describe them) Americans can relate to that.

White supremacy is a helluva drug my man

Kind of the same situation with how white evangelicals support a dude who has cheated on every wife he has had...

So true but that's the only thing I can think of except that it's a lot of low income people of all races who seem to somehow not look at Trump the same as a lot of the other billionaires out here.

I think some of it may have to do with the infatuation in the US with celebrity, but all these white billionaires are the enemy of a lot of these low income white Trump supporters.

No authentic signature should differ that much. Obviously there's going to be some differences but the base pattern wouldn't change.
You can see 4 distinct patterns in the signatures. The second pattern is different in the supposed laptop signature but to me it looks like something that could be attributed to haste or laziness. If you look at the final pattern however, it's not even close to the verified authentic signature. It's not natural to come up with a completely different pattern.
Nothing about this laptop story makes sense.

$85 for recovering data from a hard drive . I think that's allegedly for three laptops too.

Brah you in your bag with these idiotic takes.

Trump will relate to lower income people because.....check notes......liberals point out he is broke

So with this Hunter Biden story, we gotta buy:

-He flew across the country
-To go to a hole in the wall repair shop
-Had three different laptops to fix. Three, at the same time.
-Was charged way below standard rates
-Wanted pics of him doing drugs and incriminating evidence of his father evolved in an influence-peddling scheme recovered
-The owner has a condition where he couldn't identity Hunter but thinks it was him
-Signed his name weird
-Never came back for them
-The owner called the FBI to come to pick it up. But can't verify said calls properly
-Gave it to Trump operatives....because....reasons

-Oh, yeah, there might have kiddie porn on it. Meaning, Hunter Biden paid for someone to recovery material that would land him in jail

Yep, totally believable.

I got two American uncles who we're on the fence, leaning Trump. I convinced em to go Biden. (I hope)

these dudes exist. Ive talked to em

They are vaguely fiscally conservatives, in the sense they have a vague instinct that low taxes = good economy. They credit Trump for the economy pre covid. and they are old so they figure most white people are racist but Trump is a businessman so they think no matter how racist he he's gunna do what's best for the economy.
Can confirm.

The ones I know are all about the money.

They believe that the right's racism will stop when Trump is gone. They don't know about all the damage he's been doing inside the government, and if they do know, they tend to buy the argument that small government is good so the internal cuts and agency closures were warranted.

Then, they sober up when I explain to them that the only immigration services that haven't seen cuts are BCP and anything touching deportation proceedings and that their family papers will take longer to come through because the USCIS has run out of money some time in August and their folks have been getting furloughed.

By the time we get to the 60-year plan of the GOP to invalidate the civil rights act by linking business interests to white supremacist interests (and why Trump is not an aberration), they get tired of me and hit me with "they're all the same anyway."

They're out there, basking in their blissful ignorance, and I'm tired of debating them.

I guess Hunter Biden just keeps dropping laptops into ponds or some ****, and the only solution is to fly 3000 miles to get them fixed.
At the most hole in the wall store possible at that lol.

sounds like trump and his boys going out for their 13 year old fix in Florida

No you don’t.

No offense, but every single person from the US that I’ve seen comment about how great this is for Bolivia is extremely ignorant about Bolivia’s politics.

What they are marketing to the rest of the world is that socialism won and the people of Bolivia withstood a government coup. The truth is Evo Morales is an evil person who is, potentially, the world largest cocaine dealer, using indigenous communities as a cover. There was also no coup. It was a nation wide protest called a “paro.”

Shaun King, AOC, and even Bernie have had extremely ignorant takes on this subject. I guarantee none of them have ever stepped foot in Bolivia. Most people from the US haven’t. But everyone is an expert these days because they read a couple articles.

If this guy turns into the next Evo, Bolivia will continue to dive into the dumps. Did you happen to know Evo rewrote the constitution TWICE so that he could run for a 3rd and 4th term? Like the US, the term limit was 2 election cycles (5 years each instead of 4). He committed fraud to try to win the last election, which was exposed and led to the “paro.”

But it’s socialism and the indigenous people are winning so that makes all of this ok.

and just to be clear, Evo Morales was a seemingly great person and fit for the country when he was originally elected. He did some good things for the country (ex. Teleferico).Eventually greed took over him and he became a raging psychopathic dictator. People in my wife’s family had their lives threatened because they were members of the media speaking out against Evo. Guarantee him and Trump would get along great if Trump actually understood the basics of Bolivian politics.
At minimum, the situation in Bolivia, over the last year or so, was pretty sus.

The US has a long history of launching or supporting coups in nearly every Latin American Country and in some countries, the US supported coups on multiple occasions. Those coups always favor the right wing. Those coups tend to claim much more local support than actually exists and the pretext of those coups is usually abstract or process based e.g. the defense of “liberty” or “rule of law.” Moreover, the US tends to launder its pretext through supposedly neutral bodies like the OAS or a local politician who claims to speak for the entire country. In addition, the US denies it did a coup then History shows it did indeed do a coup then the US apologies for coups in decades passed but insists that it doesn’t do coups anymore.

So what happened in Bolivia seemed to fit that fact pattern. Now whatever bad things Morales or MAS officials did or do doesn’t change the basic fact pattern around whether or not a coup happened.

A popular leftist president appeared to, once again, get a majority in 2019, the results were invalidated by the Bolivian rightwing with help from the US. The pretext was clean elections (a real joke considering how the US conducts its own elections) so the solution was to let an avowed Christian and white supremacist rule a largely indigenous country for a year. After a year of labor militancy by indigenous workers, the “interim” government finally decided to do elections and guess what, the leftist party won.

Again, this is not an endorsement of MAS but I doubt there is enough local insight to nullify the facts surrounding the US’ approach to Latin American politics, the undeniable racial and economic caste system in Bolivia and Anez’ own words about who should get what in Bolivia.

And if everything I said is wrong, it’s sure is interesting how Tesla (a company whose core product needs lithium) responded to the undemocratic rise and democratic fall of a pro business government in the lithium rich nation of Bolivia.
What Rex said is basically how I understood things. I am actually aware he changed the term limits which is always a bad sign but I interpreted the situation to be, he won anyways and then was ousted to install a right wing regime ( which let's be honest never happens in the western hemisphere without the CIA in some way being involved), then the police and military cracked down hard on protesters, then they finally held another election where the previous government won, in an election controlled by the opposition, validating Evo's first win.

Was it wrong of me to simplify things to socialism & indigenous representation = good? Yes, It was insensitive to take a complicated situation and use it to make a simple point. Especially as an outside observer. I lack personal stake in Bolivia which means I lack information on what has happened. My bad. I'll keep what you've said in mind as I watch the situation.

While I agree big tech needs to be broken up, I disagree with the asinine argument that they need to be broken up because they won't allow conservatives to peddle their misinformation.

Also, I find it hilarious how Google's execs justified donating to Republicans because they wanted the ear of whoever wins. Then this happens

They never explain what “out to get” even means. Trump had no problems with Wikileaks but google is a problem? Just like the stupid tiktok thing that amounted to nothing. “They don’t like us!!!” Isn’t an argument

Low income people don't have boats.

There is this ongoing lie in America about everybody being middle class, from the cat working the mop and bucket at your local high school to the guy hammering away during his third overtime of the week, which will eventually net him twice his base weekly wage.

It's not low income people who love Trump; it's low-educated ones. Many of them make a loooot of money. I used to work in a factory with a dude who had a boat, a house with a pool, and had been getting $35/hr for years for babysitting machines and putting bottles in cardboard boxes after leaving the military.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but it should also be mentioned that it's cats like him who see life as a zero sum game: they know that the world progresses, they know their task is simple and easily replaceable, and they will use their vote and voice to support whoever will protect what they've earned. In the absence of powerful unions (that they've been convinced to disavow by much smarter political operatives working for the business/owner class), they will go to the first person who promises that their factory jobs will not go away, the coal will keep getting mined, the oil will keep getting extracted, their taxes will stay low, and foreigners will be kept out.

Even if everything else burns around them.

The amount of taxpayer dollars that will be flushed down the toilet by Barr to try to intimidate a corporation that has the funds to fight this in court for years is pathetic. People are struggling to pay bills as no stimulus bill is even close to being passed but sure, let's go after google for lack of competition.

Jim Jordan is so full of ****.

FaceBook has been caught throttling traffic to progressive pages.

YouTube ads are full of laptop conspiracy theories that have already been proven false. What the ****? These companies are complete trash
I stop watching YouTube on my laptop and phone just for that reason. Trump ads pop up ALL THE TIME. I now watch on my TV, no ads.

If I actually care about antitrust laws and I want to make an example of someone I'm going after Amazon first

They own a digital marketplace that hosts 3rd party and proprietary products
A visual media streaming service
An audible media streaming service literally called Audible
A live streaming service
A home security service
A home automation service
A ****ing supermarket
The largest cloud-computing platform in the world in AWS
And I'm pretty sure they're working on building their own shipping service to replace the need for USPS

It's a crime they've ever been allowed to grow this large tbh
