Florida Police Officer Resigns After Being Caught on Camera Calling Black Man a 'Piece of **** N-Word'

A St. Petersburg police officer resigned after cell phone video showed the officer using a racial slur on Monday night came to the department's attention. Supervisors with the department viewed the video and met with Officer Michael Naples on Tuesday. As a result, Naples resigned from the police department.
It started when Officer Naples responded to a call for service involving a dispute between a pizza delivery person and a customer. A man reportedly struck the pizza delivery driver's vehicle with a fire extinguisher. That man was given a notice of referral for criminal mischief, but as Naples was leaving, he had a verbal exchange with the man in which the officer used a racial slur.

In the video, St. Pete Police confirms the officer can be heard calling the man a piece of s*** n*****.

School Board Member Blames Her Racist Facebook Posts on Michelle Obama, NFL Protesters

Jefferson County School Board member Donna Pike is under fire for what a local activist is calling racist social media posts.

Pike denies the claim.

At Tuesday's board meeting, Birmingham activist Carlos Chaverst called Pike, a Republican from Irondale, out for a post she shared on Facebook on June 1 with an image of former Obama advisor Valerie Jarrett but with the words "No! I'm not black! I'm Valerie Varret (sic) and I'm a Muslim, born in Iran!"
Chaverst showed a packed conference room images of not only that post, but others showing Pike supported Roseanne Barr, whose show was recently canceled by ABC after Barr referred to Jarrett as an "ape" on Twitter.

"Ms. Donna Pike," Chaverst said, "is a staunch racist on the school board."

RIP to these men. It's scary what the United States has devolved in nine short months. I get there will always be racism and religious hate but to think how far back in time we've traveled and how much progression is rapidly being erased and even energized is crazy.

Any "devolution" is from folks that were racist WELL before Trump got into office. Sure they are probably feeling a little more empowered now but I wouldn't say the country is MORE racist than it was a year ago
