Ska its been going on long enough...time to lock....

A few of my friends and I were having a discussion last night about the warriors in general and first draft pick Anthony Randolph. While I was the only onethat thought that the warriors are currently rebuilding to try and compete (in the future) in the tough western conference, my friends insisted that they werenot rebuilding. I stated that in the past the warriors have shown several patterns of being "a training camp team" in that they get good players inthe draft and let them go to free agency. To solve that now they locked up key players in the franchise to prevent another team from snatching what they havedeveloped.

The meat of the argument was about Anthony Randolph. I've watched him in college at LSU and was impressed with some of his strengths. He had decent lowpost moves and great ball handling skills for a big man. He was also able to square up and knock down some close to mid range jumpers. he then went on to havea pretty impressing post draft workout and summer league. The problem is he is very undersized in a beefy NBA and an even beefier western conference. He willhave to see solid big men every night and for a rookie sometimes that is too much to handle. Sure he beat bigger guys off the dribble but when play againstguys such as David West, Pau Gasol(as soft as he is he would still beast Randolph), Lamarcus Aldrige, etc. Another thing is Nelly has never been huge on givingrookies good run except for the cases of such players as Chris Webber. Brandon Wright had the same off season that Randolph did and he hasnt played enough toshow what kind of impact he can have. I said he would start out the season get about 12 minutes a game max, and if he does absolutely spectacular then he willstart to see more minute later during the season. I this year being a more developmental year for Randolph. He will definitely play in some games this year butI think they might use him a in some d-league games to help him develop.

My question to yall is howmuch do you think the warriors will use Randolph? How much PT will he get? and how big of an impact do you see him having this year?

If the Knicks hand over Ricky Rubio just to get rid of Z Bo than SMH. I want to get rid of him but cot damn, is he that wack?!

Only if it ensures Bron.

I don't care who else is on the roster if that happens.

Stop Allen, the odds of Lebron coming here aren't that strong. He's a prima donna and is only doing this so Cleavland makes an effort andso he gets the attention he craves. No way in hell am I giving up any draft picks to get rid of a player. I rather keep everybody and roll with it than give upfirst rounders every year and have no chance of getting young talented players.

If there wasn't a chance..

Walsh wouldn't be managing this team in the way he has since taking over.

And even if not LeBron...Wade post Olympics looks like a good #2 option.

Salaries will be cut and either LeBron, Wade or Bosh will be a Knick in 2 years.

I'm not at all saying throw in a pick....I'm just saying...only if it brought back Bron in return.

Enough with the PS's. You people are hyping up a situation that is not guaranteed no matter how much money is cleared. At the end of the day, it's HISdecision. Im not about to get my hopes up AGAIN about another free agent that we supposedly have a shot at. We'll get to that when we cross that bridge.

The last time we had this opportunity....Allan Houston and LJ were brought in.

Maybe I'm wearing blue and orange colored glasses....but if money is equal (contract wise)....

You can't tell me the New York Knicks won't be one of his top choices.

When an organizations goal and plan is to build around a year of free agency and you are located in the biggest market....

Yes, we should get our hopes up.

Cause there damn sure is nothing else about this team to do so.

Everyone laughs at the thought...just cause the Knicks suck right now....we'll see.

Yall should laugh at Donnie Walsh too...cause it is obvious what he is targeting.

When he says his goal is to clear cap space....well....yeah....we should set our sights on that. If you read between the lines you see what he's trying toaccomplish.

And that's draft well, shed contracts, adapt this team to a faster tempo (more friendly to todays game) and be aggressive in FA when able to.

Or we could take the Isiah route and make #%%%*@@! deals with false promises and 20 win teams with no draft picks.

I have no problem getting my hopes up and waiting things out 2 years. Even if LeBron isn't landed, we're gona have a lot of options and flexibility.

But he is his #1 goal, so I still don't see what's so foolish about the idea.

Yall woulda thought Orlando clearing space for 1 off season was a pipe dream? What about LA and Shaq?

Wait, the Grizzlies really want a first rounder?

What happened to the deal being in Walsh's court? What the *@++ is up with teams thinking Isaih isstill running the team and we'll trade away our draft picks.

I'll believe this plan if it happens. I was never a fan of the Walsh hire, I wanted Colangelo, but we'll see how it pans out.

Only way it can make sense to give up a draft pick is if we get mike conley. memphis has enough guards anyways, so they can use our pick to fill in anotherposition next year. and the knicks get a true point guard.

jw...for people that have seen him in action, how nice is mike conley? all i kno is that he's a true point that was drafted 4th in a draft with oden adurant, so i'm just assuming he's good.

if lebron does leave cleveland, i think he's headed to brooklyn. if beasley is anything like he's hyped up to be, dwade will probably stay in miami.sooo that leaves bosh...

Kobe announced that he isn't having surgery on his finger because it requires a 12 week recovery period.

Update on Kobe's injured pinkie

http://
After seeking numerous opinions from hand specialists, Lakers guard Kobe Bryant has decided to forgo surgery on his right pinkie. Fresh off his Olympic Gold Medal performance in Beijing, Bryant expressed that he did not want to miss any time on the court when Lakers training camp opens later this month.
"I have always felt that I can still focus and play at a high level even through various injuries. That's really just part of the game. When the doctors told me recovery from a procedure could be 12 weeks, I just decided now was not the time to have surgery. What it really came down to for me is that I just didn't want to miss any time 'punching the clock' for the Lakers, given all we are trying to accomplish as a team this NBA season. I am just really excited and looking forward to being there with the guys when camp opens in a few weeks. That is a real bonding process and if I can avoid being on the sidelines for that, God willing, I will," said Bryant.

lebron, bosh, and dwade to the knicks in 2010... probably won't happen, but that would be raw... they'd be unstoppable.

LOS ANGELES -- Reigning NBA MVP Kobe Bryant will not have surgery on his right pinkie because recovery would take too long.

Bryant has played with damaged ligaments in the finger since February, but said Tuesday that he won't have surgery after seeking opinions from hand specialists.

"When the doctors told me recovery from a procedure could be 12 weeks, I just decided now was not the time to have surgery," Bryant said on the Web site kb24.com. "What it really came down to for me is that I just didn't want to miss any time 'punching the clock' for the Lakers, given all we are trying to accomplish as a team this NBA season."

Bryant averaged 28.3 points while playing in all 82 games despite injuring the finger Feb. 5 against the New Jersey Nets. The Lakers guard put off the surgery until after the Beijing Olympics, where he helped lead the United States to the gold medal.

The Lakers open training camp Sept. 27 and start the regular season at home against the Portland Trail Blazers on Oct. 28.

Chill out John, I'm sure your having a great conversation, but keep on doing it and Ska will zip your lips up.

FO LIFE.

Won't Cleveland have enough money to sign a superstar (or two really, really good players) AND re-sign James?

If they sign either Bosh or Stoudemire before their offer to James, I think that would definitely play a huge factor in his decision. I don't think NewYork is going to be in a better situation than what Cleveland is potentially lined up to do.

Well, Cleveland has some BAD contracts. But 2010 they literally only have TWO player outside of LBJ, that's Daniel Gibson and Mo Williams, and they areabout 12 million in contracts. I can see them signing 1 superstar, and one really good starter for about 12-13 million, and just roll with the Celticsgameplan, 3 studs, and a bunch of spare parts. That of course is concluding that their FO isn't filled with a bunch of morons.

It's a STRONGpossibility, although not a likely one IMO. If NY or New Jersey wants to pry LBJ away, they have to put the pieces there before they can get him. New Jersey ismore likely of the two IMO because they at least have some talent around on that team (Harris/VC/Lopez).

It's a waiting game though...
