Sep 19, 2008 8:58 AM EST

uta_40.gif
There have beenmurmurs that Utah forward Andrei Kirilenko could be made an offer by Russia's CSKA in Moscow, but his agent has denied rumors, according to DeseretNews.

"There's no question that they would love to have him," agent Marc Fleisher said of CSKA. "But to my knowledge, they haven't made any efforts this summer - at least through me - to get him, so I don't take it (the rumor) very seriously."

Kirilenko is under contract through 2011, which means he has three seasons left on the deal.

"As long as a player is under contract with an NBA team, he can't sign a contract to play in Europe (and vice-versa),"Fleisher said, adding that the rule doesn't prohibit contract buyouts.
Arenas CrossingFingers For Christmas Return
Sep 19, 2008 8:53 AM EST

was_40.gif
Wizards pointguard Gilbert Arenas is hoping that he'll be able to return to the court by Christmas, according to Washington Post.

He clarified his likely return date in a recent blog entry.

"I know time frames are dicey, but they said anywhere from mid December to January 1, I'll be back by then at 100percent," Arenas posted. "I should be, if everything goes well. So that's the Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanza present I'm hopingfor."

He then went on to explain his offseason program, which was supposed to help the knee heal properly.

"I actually did everything I was supposed to after the season," Arenas said. "I sat out a whole month without doinganything. No nothing. No rehab, no jogging, no nothing. I took the time because whatever the pain was that felt like a pinch or a bruised bone, we felt thatover time, with me not doing anything the pinch would go away. . . . It wasn't pain to where I couldn't play, but it was pain to the point where Icouldn't get through rehab the way I wanted to and before I stepped on the floor I didn't want anything holding me back."

It better be Ariza starting, I can't deal with another season of space cadet's stupidity. Not to even mention Bill Walton's son................

why not let odom be the primary ball handler and initiate the offense and let D fish spot up and shoot open 3's?

the lakers have enough scoring in their starting 5 to always at least have 2 starters on the floor @ all times..

id like to keep the space cadet in the starting line up just to spread the floor more for kobe, gasol, and bynum. he might not be the mostintelligent player, but how smart do you have to be to just camp and shoot?

I like the idea of Odom being the sixth man.

All those bench mob guys are fast and like to run the floor, it's then a perfect situation for Odom.

Farmar, Sasha, Odom, Pau/Powell

julius hodge wanna run point? huh?
With the amount of players we have at the 2 & 3 spots, playing point forward would give him the best shot at making the squad. He'll endup doing that a lot at training camp & this upcoming preseason to see how it plays out.
