Okay, im going to be blunt with it- why are black people flocking to these brands they'd never wear two-three years ago? I understand times change, but it annoys me when the same clowns who were wearing XXXL shirts are suddenly rocking tight *** clothes.

@ what the youth has become.
Ok, now we're getting somewhere.

Glad you stopped beating around the bush and voiced how you really felt.

Your good bro. If that;s how you feel, that's how you feel.

I just wish you would have said some black people or just simply said
it annoys me when the same clowns who were wearing XXXL shirts are suddenly rocking tight *** clothes.

That's all you really had to say IMO.

true, i agree i should have read through the thread before i replied but to be honest i just came from reading your other thread about your g35 that whips ashard as a bmw or a porsche
laugh.gif
and saw that you were 20 years old, then i clicked on this thread and got to the line about you wearing Tommy Bahama and icouldnt even read any further. The irony of someone hating on Polo, while admitting to wearing Tommy Bahama floored me, sorry. Throw into the mix the age andwell

Protip: Styles change, yes even in the hood. and sometimes, they arent very original ie skinny/tight fit (the baggy/xxl era was quite unique tothe hood/"black people").

Now, I'm not exactly hating on Ralph Lauren, just the Polos. They make very nice suits, button ups, etc, but I mean c'mon, to wear a polo or Ralph Lauren Solid T-shirt everyday? Sorry, but your not "flossin" when you wear stuff you can buy at TJ Maxx or Ross. This is mainly directed at all the "rich" high school kids around my way who consistently wear this stuff and think they're nice

Step the game up a little or at least switch it up every now and then. I miss with Tommy Bahahma, INC, Buckle, Lucky Brand/ Seven, etc....what ya'll think?

So you think shopping at Macy's is stepping it up?

i'll just say that POLO isn't going anywhere, it's a staple of casual wear. that said, i haven't worn my polos as much recently becausehonestly it's gotten stale and i like wearing plain t-shirts from say... banana repub and j.crew more.

about the whole hood thing, man they go through more fads than anything. wallet chains, small tees, big tees, shiny jeans, fruity colored polos, it doesn'tmatter because soon there will be a new fad they attach to. hopefully it's not cargo shorts and sandals.

and...

I agree. People go to TJ Maxx or the sales racks and rack up and think they super fresh. In fact, if you won't spend full price on the stuff that is $200 plus, you not stunting. I'm tired of spending that much on it and folks thinking they fresher than me. I'm starting to go to couture fashion these days. I'm gon start buying some Armani and possibly some Gucci if I can afford it.

are you serious?

Judging by OP's attitude about this...

You ain't flossin in a pre-owned 76k mile G35 coupe either.

Basic RL polos will always be classic and acceptable clothing.
Basic RL polos will never be something to brag about.

i own stock in it...not much but still...i do. But i dont wear it everyday anyway, i wear it often though, not to look "fresh"...but to give myself amore mature look, do some growing up in and out...unfortunately all the HS kiddies r wearin polo n jordans and fitteds now....but idc...i wear it cuz i likeit.

just bought a couple big pony's on the 30% f&f that really helps when the polos are 100 to 125 just for one shirt.
Ralph Lauren Polos will NEVER be played out...... EVER
It's Polo...... if itain't in the hood.... us white people will still be wearing it, just like we were BEFORE it got hot in the hood
