Yeah, it definitely matters what kind of calories you're consuming, if you want a healthy weight loss and you want it to last. I just don't have enough info on you diet to know what you're taking in. How many protein shakes? What kind of protein shake? How much fat? How many grams of carbs? What else are you eating during the day? How do you know for certain your calories are 1200-1500 a day? There's just too many variables to give you an answer based on what you've said, but I can tell you that unless you're doing ALOT of strength training and you have dietary restrictions that keep you from getting enough protein from chicken, eggs, fish, lean dairy, etc... you don't need and should probably avoid protein shakes during a weight-loss plan.
Also, how long does it take you to run the fast paced mile and the slow paced 2 miles? You should go more by duration of time doing cardio than the distance you run. I can run a mile in like 5-6 minutes but if I did it once a week, it's not gonna help me lose weight.
