STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Not too big on these products pushed by any of those companies. I have a co-worker that constantly pushes Beach Body stuff, honestly it's like the second one of these companies get a hold of you, you lose all ability to think for yourself. If you can't tell me what's in the product that you've been taking for months then I have a tough time taking dietary advice from you.

My aunt keeps Shakeology by Beach Body on deck. And they aren't cheap, 100+ for a box. She's constantly giving me boxes, which I never finish. Ingredients are actually pretty good on this imo. I've tried to tell her it is wayyy overpriced but like you said, once they get ahold of someone, they're blind.

The profile is good compared to a lot of the crap out there, but you can put together something comparable for less. The main thing it offers is convenience. Some are willing to pay for that, I can't blame them. They just get so preachy and superior though. I just have to bite my tongue to avoid the unnecessary arguing.
 
Anyone follow The Game on insta? Well hes been on this fitness steeze for awhile now. Eats healthy, doings training everday but anyways his chief is a beast. I wish i could have him cook my meals!
 
I like dude but he sounds stupid here. He needs to just stick to throwing up weight instead of trying sound smart. 
 
I'm with you man. I def hear you on the "preachy" part. She also buys those Andrew Lessman pro cap vitamins, talk about preaching lol. She swears by them too, so I've consequently taken in a few bottles of those as well.

I'm trying to gain 10-15 pounds over the summer, should I get plain whey protein or should I get a "mass gainer" that has protein + carbs + calories?

I'm leaning toward the mass gainer because I have a hard time eating a lot, and I'm sure an extra 700-1000 calories a day could really help me get bigger

But I'm new to this, sooo suggestions?

As long as the profile is decent, you can't beat free. One note on Shakeology, the B12 source isn't the best as far as your body actually absorbing it goes. I'll post more later. Minor critique though.
 
Went to the gym at 4:30 this morning and got a couple bicep workouts in and then left. I wasn't feeling it at all and I felt my body just telling me to go home and rest so that's what im gonna do. Gonna take the rest of today and all tomorrow to let my body recharge and hit the gym on Thursday. Hopefully that helps

Bro, talk about crack... If I didnt work out I'd drink this just because. I hate its like $15 more than the other flavors though.
 
Shoulder been killing me the past week. Tried to power clean last night. Wasn't happening.

Any idea why they are standing on plates? doesn't it make you have to bend down farther making you round your back?

not at all... Im doing straight leg deads from a deficit.. This is an advanced movement so I wouldnt recommend for beginners or novice level lifters... But my back is strong enough to handle the load... Deficit and weight... Im well over a 600lb deadlift, I do 495 for reps from a deficit, never had any issues

It all comes down to calories in/calories out and exercise. If you want to put on weight, you need to keep track of your diet, eat 1g/lb of protein, and eat HEALTHY. If a mass gainer can help you do that then great. Personally I use one after lifts but one supplement is only a small piece to the puzzle. Getting some whey to help you hit your protein throughout the day is a good idea as well. Lastly, don't OD on the gains. You can't gain more than .5-1lb of muscle a week depending on several factors. Gains take time and if you try to go too fast you'll just get fat.
 
The response to the YouTube comments are just flat out stupid. That's why I always say just because a guy is jacked doesn't mean he's gonna give you good advice.

To equate this to a topic in this thread yesterday, it's like saying you're gonna bench with your elbows flared out at a lower weight because you "can handle it".
