For some reason I can leg press 410lbs but can't squat to save my life. Can barely get 185. Could be that I'm subconsciously scared I'll injure my back again or could be my form. Who knows...

I did 5x5 for Squats. I was adding 10 lbs every week till I hit 315. I'm adding 5 lbs now, but Ima alter how I do legs.

One week, I'll go really heavy for lower reps. Next week, lighter weight with more reps.

Should help me from getting burnt out.

I would try doing a light and heavy day in one week, I think you might be a little too worried about the whole burning out thing and your body getting too used to a routine
How to fix my legs feeling like they're about to pop when I run? Starts early too like 15mins in and I don't think it's the shoes

I do miss the old NT, used to be reckless but it was all jokes. I violated way more on my og sn than any ones that followed. After that first ban you can't even sneeze. Planning on running in a bit for an hour despite my bum knee.

Sun- Max Effort Legs 

Mon- Hypertrophy Push

Tue- Max Effort Pull

Wed- Off

Thur- HypertrophyLegs

Fri- Max Push

Sat- Hypertrophy Pull

my dude is doing 5x5 (per a recommendation to my NT brethren) but he told me he noticed he's getting stronger, but he's not "losing weight" anymore... at least not compared to when he was strictly doing cardio. Just from me looking at him, his stomach is getting flatter, but the love handles are still there. His arms aren't sculpted but I can feel muscle in his chest . Granted he's only been doing this steadily for about two weeks :lol Before it was off again on again but this is the second week he's worked out consistently at least 4 days a week, he plays soccer on sundays.


Any advice? should I tell him it's time to switch up from 5x5 or just keep at it?


AAAAND I'm going to suggest him joining a "bodybuilding" message board , any you guys recommend? I've heard ppl talk about BB.com, is that the best/most informative one?

How is cellucor nasty? ON taste chemical tasting. All of ON taste the same. They All have this same weird taste and smell. I Got Elite today. That Cookies and Cream wasn't bad.

Now your flipping my words. I said i still gained muscle without gaining fat. Even if i was 15 it doesn't matter. That is irrelevant because the arguement was "you can not gain muscle without fat, even if it is newbie gains" NOT "you can not gain muscle without fat unless you are 15"

I only did 5x5 for Squats, no other lifts. I have a back/tailbone injury still though. Once I hit close to double my body weight, my back starts to ache even with good form.

I'm not training each body part twice a week though, maybe on my next bulk. Calves and core are different. I'm getting good results from Calves still, and my core needs to catch up.

lolololol two weeks? It takes like 4-6 months to even start seeing real deal changes, just stick with it. And BB.com isn't for the weak lol

Yeah 2 weeks isnt enough time to notice progress on anything. If hes just trying to lose weight tell him to watch his diet and keep his cardio up. It sounds like you want him to look like a boy toy no homo, just have him dude abs/chest/arms 4 days a week and youll love him.
Try a heel insert. That helped me a lot when I started running on pavement everyday.

Am I the only one in this thread who's never been banned? What's the deal with "reporting" and why do people care if they get reported? Do you get banned if you get reported too many times or something?

How would I kill progress if I'm still applying progressive overload to my routines?

Progressive overload is key whether I change routine every 2 months, or not.
Fine - you may very well not kill your progress.

I guess I just don't see the purpose for switching routines.

Most routines recommend starting off light and going through an adjustment period. If you're switching programs often, I feel like you'd waste a bunch of time adjusting.
Basically, I don't see any reason to switch between programs every couple of months. I'd say you should find a program that works and stick with it. Ultimately, it's up to you; I just think you're avoiding the most efficient route towards accomplishing your goals.



Past few pages have been hilarious. There's a lot of insecurity and sensitivity that needs to be conquered.

Fitness doesn't need to be a vanity contest. Unfortunately, certain channels such as Instagram, Youtube, and social networking have given people a false sense that there's a demand out there for a consistent stream of self-centered content. I respect people who actually try and share knowledge and discuss fitness-related topics through these channels; however, there's way too many people who have tried to champion these channels as a means to conquer their insecurities.
Pretty much, lol. Bunch of laughs catching up on this thread. So much keyboard cappin. So much emotion. So much insecurity. Guess for some, the net is real life lol.

Feel stronger now than I did prior to my planned 2 week break. Definitely what the doc ordered. Looking forward to smashing some PRs over the coming months. Need to improve my lower body flexibility. Get my squat up.

Rumble roller has definitely been a godsend.
