The College Basketball Post

Notes from Sparty/Bucknell:
Horrible bit of officiating in the second half of this game. First off, the refs generally had no control and allowed the players to get too chippy. I’m all for hard-nosed basketball, but proceedings often went beyond that limit yesterday.

Secondly, that fifth foul call against Zach Thomas wasn’t worthy of a technical. I watched numerous replays, all he did was throw his hands up in protest and I’m sure mouthed something not so friendly. But it’s the NCAA Tournament. Emotions are running high, especially for the seniors where every game could be their last one played.

The officials know Thomas is Bucknell’s best player. They know he’s sitting on four fouls. Let that one go, guys. If Thomas made physical contact with a ref or threw the basketball at an opponent, then fine, T him up. Instead, they ended the kid’s collegiate career on a dubious note.

Accurate... not that I think it would have mattered.

They gotta see him with the hands in the locker room. point blank layup. did all that switching hands **** for no reason.

Yep. Fundamentals. Tried to get cute instead of going the tried and true, easier route.

Oh well. Decent run for Michigan. They gotta do something to turn the corner for the program man. They’re close yet so far away.

Can’t make a left handed lay up ...that weakness showed up for him at the worst time

2 missed ft’s tho :smh:
