Well I respect that on some level...
If I recall correctly they got all rowdy when they originally signed CJ & Harrow too...
That was short lived... I'd hate to see a reoccurrence of that.

I don't think JaKaar Sampson can shoot even a little bit but he's fun to watch, he should end up being an awesome defensive/open court player. Obekpa looked really, really good defensively as well.

Much different circumstances. At that time:
-Sidney Lowe was the coach
-Last NCAA tournament was in 2006
-Incoming class was basically centered around one good recruit
This year:
-Much better college coach (Lowe was treating the team like NBA players)
-Coming off Sweet 16 and losing to runner-up Kansas by 3 points (if only Howell had held onto that rebound)
-Three McD's as freshmen
-No signs of recruiting slowing down with very promising 2013 and 2014 classes

It's a marketing campaign dude, what do you expect?
I'm not foolish enough to think we are sweeping the series against the blues but a split would be reasonable. Regardless State's ACC schedule is favorable, so a top 2 regular season finish won't be a stretch.

How come Omar Calhoun didn't get the NYC hype machine placed behind him? He is one of the best players to come out of the city in the past few years. But, Maybe that was for the best.

My boy made the UCONN squad this year as a walkon and he told me dude has been putting in work at practice. Surprised me cause I saw him in person at Christ the King a couple years back and he was good but not overly impressive.

Things that you hear EVERY year re: Cuse team being a problem. Interested in seeing Coleman, and the progression of MCW and Rakeem.
Seems like the whole basketball world is shocked at this Nichols decision.
And the word on Obekpa was that he'll be a game changing defender from day one, so I'm not surprised about that at all.

Jamaal Franklin will be the best player on the floor but SDSU still doesn't have the size up front to beat Syracuse on Friday IMO. Plus, sight lines/wind shooting outdoors favors Syracuse.
