The Dallas Cowboys ... vol. Wrap This Thing Up, Who To Draft?

well, i think we test out McGee for the next 6 weeks and see if he's any good because we will most likely have a shot at one of the top 3 qbs with our draft pick ...

we needed line and secondary help and did nothing but cut flo ... Dez is the goods but we needed line help and you cant get dez, roy and miles the ball without a line blocking ... jerry jones has failed miserably ... i really thought we had a slight chance too ... smh

o well fellas at least we can play some of the rookies for some reps ...

We need to get rid of a lot of dead weight on this team. The core is messed up. These guys haven't embraced leadership roles and I feel like most of them are only considered "captains" because of their tenure with the team and not actually because of the things they bring to the locker room and the field as leaders. As this season goes on, I wouldn't be surprised to see things "come out" about a locker room divide.

No leadership from the head coach and no leadership from the veteran players.

you really think getting a quarterback is going to solve things? We need multiple offensive linemen and a free safety and you want to look at a quarterback where we already have a good player at.  Yea i'll pass

im sayin though lol ...

and by the way, how many times do i have to tell you anthony spencer is some stone cold garbage? we need PRESSURE, not solid rushers who dont do %%%@ ... he cant even stop the run ...

we have gronkowski out there costing us the season because hes a rookie and doesnt know pass protection ... we have the dumbest GM and Coaching staff in football ...

I don't like the cowboys but I feel for u guys. Losing Romo is devestating. Even though many of u said he was over rated I though he was a top 5 QB. So what he never won the big game but he kept u guys competitive and put up points.

i always knew he was "better" than most, but he just doesnt have that killer instinct ... he has the gee-golly gene shared by wade phillips and is just OK with winning ...

i said it before and i'll say it again, we arent winning anything with the Garrett/Romo collabo ... it's just not gonna work ... and we are even worse at many other positions ... it's just a bad bad situation ...

felix jones sucks ... what the +#@# jerry was all giddy about that bum %+# dude for ill never understand ...

The sad thing is, a lot of people will look at this game and say "Aw we're fine. Romo is just so important to the team...if he didn't get hurt, we'd be winning this game!" Well how about the other veterans on this team? The other talent? The sad thing is none of them stepped up when needed and they quit. This is a gut-check exposure as to the heart of the team. There's no heart, no passion from the coaches and the team.

I understand Romo is important but there's no way any team should just give up completely like this. This is one of the most embarrassing moments I've witnessed.

How can you say this after this dude comes and trolls the %!$@ out of the raiders thread
grin.gif
and talks all kinds of %!$@ after our first win...
This guy was going off about his $*#!+%# Cow(###$@*#) and the ****tiness of the raiders when in fact the cowboys = the new detroit lions.

And TOUCHDOWN GIANTS

The season is already in the toilet, might as well give McGee a shot.

the team giving up right now is a direct reflection on the coaching ... jerry HAS to fire wade tonight ... not tomorrow or next week, but tonight ... @!@$ that ... one of the worst things ive ever seen in my life ... just like last year when the vikings were beating our %*@ and no one gave a @!@$ ... what a joke ...

The problem with Dallas is this!! We have 1 player and 1 player only that has that dog in him! We have 1 player that any team with any sense wants and that's Jay Ratliff!!! Trade DeMarcus Ware now! He's the only player you can get something for in return. This dude is not a leader. I told u guys at the beginning of the season that as long as Keith Brooking is ur vocal leader ur in trouble!

i can dig it up but i dont feel like it ... i always thought d ware was the goods, but god damn he has no fire and i wanted him gone at the end of last year ... he doesnt have that james harrison, tuck, LT mentality ... hes just a nice guy with god given size and ability ... he is a top 5 pass rusher but he is quiet as a mouse ...

Needs ...

Minimum two lineman
true 3-4 NT
3 corners
2 safeties
4 linebackers

edit... first time i seen him with some fire all year ... i like that ... i know hes our best payer, but we have too many needs ...

You either get a real nose tackle and move Ratliff to 3-4 DE or you scrap the 3-4 completely because it's not working. One problem with this team's player evaluations is that they gamble too much on positions and they get lucky and are bailed out. See Romo at QB, Miles Austin at WR, and Ratliff at nose tackle, who got his start at NT cuz Ferguson got hurt back then if I remember. Ratliff filled in admirably but is he a real full-time nose tackle to anchor your 3-4 defense? Nope. But instead, the Cowboys roll with him and haven't looked back. It's not that Ratliff isn't good, because he's done more than he can ask for, but he's not a protypical NT. And then the Cowboys gambled again with freakin Alan Ball at safety this year. Too much arrogance on Jerry's part.

Um... Jay Ratliff is not the problem.

And you don't get lucky with as many late-round guys as the Cowboys have. They've got good scouts.

If this thing keeps going south, I zero in on Patrick Peterson and go get him. There's not an OT right now that looks like a Top 10 guy. No safeties, either. Peterson is a difference maker in the secondary.

The process is underway:
Dez...Prior to the game I emailed Bill Simmons. Enjoy

Hey Bill. I'm a 26 year old Veteran who has time to type an e-mail as I wait on hold for the VA Hospital to prescribe me some Adderall (because I can't focus on things I hate), or at least get me someone who can. Anyway, my reason for writing: Dez Bryant is going to steal Miles girl and then his other girl (Tony Romo)...this was my thought a month ago. Last week, it started: http://buzz.yahoo.com/art...n--Miles-Austin-Break-Up

I suck at html so hopefully you can just cut, copy, and paste this in the notepad like we did in the olden days. Don't you think "Oden days" has the same ring? Back to why you would care...Dez Bryant is a player you should have on your fantasy team in the next four weeks. You'll win a playoff game because of this. Last thing, we had the "Chosen 1" in LBJ..That failed? (I'm as anxious as you as)..now time for the "Drosen 1". This nickname will be handed directly from me to someone who needs it (Derrick Rose). Make it happen. Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,

The Drosen 1 (I'm keeping it for now)

Tonight, he had amazing strength and slip and slid to get the ball in the endzone. Kim left Miles but not Dallas. Wait and see. Do the right thing, NT.

definitely ... we take the best available secondary, lineman or linebacker ... we need to start building on the draft and not saying "this draft was for special teams" ...

i dont agree with the scouts part ... we've missed on tons of players ...

How many elite 3-4 defenses use a 303 pound nose tackle to anchor their D? We're not physical in the trenches. You can keep Ratliff at nose tackle and continue to be a up/down defense like they are every year or you can build it the right way. Put players in position to make plays and succeed. Ratliff is being asked to consistently battle guys way bigger than him, it takes a toll on him and wears him out.

Ratliff is one of the best nose tackles in football.

The DEs kinda suck. The inside linebackers suck. Nobody on this team can tackle.

Nose tackle isn't the issue.

If anything, they need to find another guy that can take more than a couple of snaps here and there... Ratliff is in the same position as the linebackers. He's playing damn near every snap.
