The Official Anime & Manga Thread Vol: 三

I guess I just can't remember that flashback. with those 3. anyone got the chap numbers?

Would people be mad if it wasn't him?

Did anyone know there was a big discussion MS boards about who the 10 member will be.

I forgot about this but when the series first started Luffy said he will have 10 Nakama
Right now they're only 9.

Each arc people think its whoever featured in that arc..

but any educated guess to who it could be.. someone not already in a crew. or willing to defect..

I would say Bart has a better chance than anyone else previously thought of, he would be another comic relief and a beast on the battle field. they also don't have anyone who can really defend them from big ships like moms and other people have.. Imagine him never being able to fully talk to luffy face to face. the Lolz from that would be good. I don't remember if it was said he was the captain of a crew or a rogue pirate?

if he's a captain then I resend that thought.
582-590 are the flashback chapters for Ace, Sabo, and Luffy.

Jinbe is supposed to join once he breaks the Sun pirates away from Big Mom. The only reason I don't see him joining is if Big Mom gets angry about it and kills him.

I think they're going to get 12 crew mates. Oda has said he will go over 10 or will "add as many as Luffy wants." But I say 12 due to the fact that Oda likes to split them in groups on island and that way we can get groups of 3 or 4. After that it'll just be allies.

I'd like to see Bart join but he has he's the captain of his own crew from when he was the head of a mafia family, so he's more likely to become an ally. So, from this arc I'd like to see Wicca the dwarf or Violet to join. Even though Violet is a princess I could see he being forced to leave when the citizens regain their memories and are told of what Doflamingo has done. He association with him may force her off the island, where she can join the Strawhats. Rebecca can then become the princess and be a symbol of forgiveness or whatever. I say Wicca because she's got good chemistry with Zoro who is the hardest to get along with. She's also been a scout for the dwarves and been around humans so she's less naive then most of the dwarves. She's also has super strength. Luffy was interested in the dwarves, but he hasn't met her yet, and we haven't seen her fight yet. The other benefits would be being able to grow any plant which helps Ussop, communicating with bugs and animals, scouting, and maybe she gets Luffy his bronze status since it's been shown the dwarves can make them.

I do not want Momonosuke tho. I can't wait till he's off the ship. I could live with Kinemon, but not Momonosuke, but there's a lot more going on with them than that's been told to us so right now I don't see them joining. I do not want Rebecca either. He fighting style is conducive to the arena and hasn't been shown good for outside of it at all. People hype he cause she has KH, but he not wanting to hurt enemies fighting style won't work with the straw hats.

just remembered CP0. lufy and company may have to go thru them before getting to pinkberry.
We don't know if they're even still there or if they were there to make the announcement and leave. They're probably still there though. If Sugar is taken out relatively soon then Luffy gets a lot of help, but that will probably be one of the last things to happen. The way this arc is set up is interesting. The opponents and and the 4 story lines.

Depending on the number of revolutionaries on DR they could maybe take CP0.

Word :lol I'm tryna see kinemon with da hands or swords I should say

Also, I feel like we are going to see something happen with zoros sword sometime soon, because he got it from that zombie guy(at thriller bark) but that guy got it from kinemons hometown right? So maybe after the arc when they take kinemon back they might talk about it again.

And also I wonder if zoro will end up with one of the 12 supreme blades like mihawk

Yeah Shusii is supposed to be Wano kuni's treasure. Kinemon said after DR was done he wanted to fight Zoro for it. It'll probably cause some trouble when they go to Wano tho. I think Kinemon is pretty strong since DD knew him on sight and obviously the mission he was on was important. Idk if he's actually Momo's dad or if it was a story they came up with, but Momo seems to be very important as well. I hope Kinemon fights someone strong this arc.

I want Zoro's next sword to be the cursed supreme blade I think it's supposed to be the best Kitesu so he can replace the one he has with that.

i swear OP plays out like 90s/early200s JRPG x adventure game. like chrono trigger meets black flag. its too awesome.

Can't get into One-Piece. Can someone recommend me something else. Been watching FM:Brotherhood and Naruto and I need one more series to get my fill.

It took me a while to get into it but I kind of forced myself to read it and now I like it.

And I recommend Fairy Tale if you don't already read that.

If you can't get in to one piece there's little chance you'll like fairy tail
Though they are different art starts out similar but it's not as good as OP

(and I like FT personally)

I think for most people who can't get into One Piece, it'll take the CP9 arc to really open their eyes to its greatness. :lol

I wouldn't recommend Fairy Tail. Early on I liked it, but the series in my opinion has no growth, honestly it gets worse. The fights aren't bad except that all of them are won the same way. The arcs tend to start off well then go down hill. I don't think Natsu has gone through much character development during the series. The most significant character development was probably Laxus and Erza had some too from what I remember.

I think after CP9 if you go back, you can appreciate the past arcs a lot more. CP9 is the start of the tonal shift of the series.

Kill La Kill ep. 11 :eek
I swear there is no stopping this amine. :lol :hat
:eek It got real today. :hat :hat

I should have seen it coming with how TTGL turned out with it's first antagonist ending up as an ally in the second half, but it's really starting to look more and more like Satsuski and her elite four will be joining forces with Matoi and co once this first half of the series is over.

Also, Matoi and Satsuki are related somehow. I can see it coming.

CP9 is where the story and characters have to start growing up. They evolve, the adventures become less of a part of the story, the characters realize they're not that strong, etc. That's why people love it. Also each character gets a lot of shine. I rewatched Skypeia recently and liked it a lot more. Enel was a solid villain, it revolved around adventure and treasure which is a part of piracy that is hardly focused on in the story. It was really creative world building and it gave Ussop, Nami, and Zoro a way to get stronger. Alabasta was a rough arc mainly due to the Luffy vs Crocodile fight. It was the only thing poorly done. I'm not a huge fan of Thriller Bark, the ending was amazing, but Moria was awful, but a lighter arc was needed after CP9 and before Saobody. The balance of the manga is crazy.
