They were down at the half but then scored 45 in the third and are up a bit now.
Even with a win 5-9 isn’t settled yet. The tie-breaks get complicated when 4 teams could be involved.

The only interesting games in the East are to get home court advantage for the 9/10 play-in - if Toronto beat Milwaukee they have it but if they lose and Chicago beat Detroit then they have the tie-break so get to play at home. No other games change anything as far as I can work out.

It's in Toronto either way. They've beaten Chicago 2 out of 3 so they have the tie-break.

The Lakers situation wasn't ideal to say the least but he's been turned into a Make-A-Wish kid at this point.

Yeah they have to win to at least secure the 7 seed and possibly avoid the play-in all together, which seems unlikely.
They lose, and the could potentially be 8 or 9 meaning they won't have HCA in the play-in game or worst have to win 2 play-in games to qualify for the playoffs.

Why....if...he plays winning ball...did the Mavs....get eliminated in April? He plays winning ball. And has an all star on his team since February. Winning ball should at least get you to the post season, no?

Lakers can only get seeds 6-8.
Most likely outcome is 7.
Possible outcome of 8. Involves clippers losing to Suns who are resting their starters.
Low chance at 6. Would need Portland to beat GS.
Even if the lakers were the 8 seed, it would be a road game against the clippers. If they lost they would get a home game against the 9/10 winner

The Mavs front office did not want to even compete for the Play In
These dudes all missed the Playoffs past their rookie seasons: Kobe (26), Wade (26), Barkley missed twice 24 and 28, Hakeem (29), your guy Curry didn't make the Playoffs until his 4th season, Garnett missed 3 straight years at age 28, 29, 30
