Streets saying Zion drank five (5) bottles of the dew during the filming

After making many deep playoff runs... Yeah they were on their last legs. I don't why you mentioning those Suns and Blazer teams when y'all don't even respect that generation like that until it's convenient.

You projecting. Who is “us” and where have you seen me disrespect this previous generation?

I’m the main one who was going on and on about how that Barry McCockiner LeBron super fan dude on Twitter helped mainstream the “plumbers of the era” talk, and all that trolling/misinformation that gets picked up and used by ppl of this generation to defend theirs against the previous. It’s dumb as hell.

Every generation has great players man. And should be respected for what happened in that time. You aren’t even talking about the discussion anymore. This how abstract it gets when *****s can’t focus and lock in on one topic/conversation.

Man, I'm saying. He's a special dude. All the talent in the world. Hella humble and giving to others. Never gasses himself. Always gasses the other guys. Dudes mad he shimmys when he's in the zone. He could REALLY pop off if he wanted. But he be chill and respectful to his opponents. Even in bad games, he stays til the buzzer and he shakes hands and ****.

He's a real mfn problem though..

they were in the primes of their lives lmaooo. a 27 yr old on his last legs

Thats an internet talking point & narrative that ppl like Maximus Meridius Maximus Meridius pick up and ran with, without looking back or really even remembering in real time

Instead of seeing it as the start of a young dynasty growing up and beating the ppl in their way….it’s retroactively recast as an old pistons team on their last legs

And to be fair, the rest of that 91 pistons team was older and they were on going to shake some **** up. But the idea that, that team was some weak team that the bulls just caught at the right time is bs. This is a back to back defending champion looking to 3peat and got to the doorstep again.

That’s what it was in real time

Definitely.
Top 2

Bulls are first in the East, and no one thought they would be. Putting up big numbers nightly. Demars 4th qrtr stats are insane. At one point Bulls were without 8 of their top 12 guys. Lonzo Ball, Alex Carruso, and Patrick Williams are STILL out. Embid, jokic, and curry are beasts, but Demar has been THE man.

"Looking back and real time" dawg I'm older and been watching this game longer than you.

Neither one of us was watching in real time. If you want to believe that Pistons team was the same team after 3 finals appearances go 'head. I never said they were "weak", don't put words in my mouth now but they wasn't the same. Mike was also better and Scottie was better.

You got a year or two on me . When I’m saying “in real time”….I’m talking about what the convo and consensus was then. You can still find those. You def tried to downplay those teams Mike beat in your original post.

And you the one who tried to insinuate that i somehow don’t respect that generation, when it’s simply not true.

At the end of the day, I’m just stating facts to your narrative. All of what I said is true. All of what you said was feelings/narrative

Some people can be pretty slippery in how they use different era arguments. Bet some of the same people who have said MJ played against accountants and car salesman have also claimed Steph wouldn’t have been as good on the 90s because of how “physical” it was.

Just dead wrong.

my concern with steph was/is his ankle issues

if I remember correctly the warriors basically studied how dude ran and worked with him on that.. im not sure steph has this level of success in this era with other organizations (which doesn’t apply to just him)

but other than that, shooting is an extremely valuable skill.. only issue was people didn’t realize how valuable and maybe his skill set isn’t fully utilized like it is now (bird, nash and Stockton are great examples of guys who are easily now taking at least 7 3s per if they played now)

whenever people say things like this I know you can’t have a rational conversation with these people

the levels of athleticism isn’t even really that different.. but people are getting smarter about the technical aspects of sports in general and things have adapted over time

we’re well aware how shh the shoes were those dudes were playing in, just gotta out on a pair of converse.. or the level of medical care.. or just the general lack of appreciation for diet and stuff like travel and off-season care

it‘s easier to speak of pure athleticism with regard to Olympic sports and then the technical aspects of those sports

Swimming is a perfect example.. Matt biondi is still by today’s standard incredibly fast and is 6’7

but when you consider his times, how the races have changed.. everyone realizes you need to maximize your dolphin underwater kicks off of the start and every turn.. plus the equipment has significantly improved from then to now, they’ve moved on from simple nylon to polyurethane and other materials to help with water retention of the materials, along with aiding in buoyancy in water and compression to help muscles throughout races

not sure how someone looks back on guys like kareem and David Robinson who were legit easily over 7 ft and athletic as hell at those sizes and think this was stuff out of the 50s or 60s.. you have human beings that are rare to this planet for any point participating in the sport during that point of time
