If I’m at least a decent team, I want no parts of Ben Simmons. Can’t be counted on mentally. Can’t be counted on to score or hit his free throws, especially when it matters. His defense is a depreciating asset in todays game. He literally has no leverage when it comes to other teams seeing him as a difference maker in their playoff/title hopes. Might as well retire.

lol which team wants Simmons now a days ??? At this point u trade for John wallets straight up. Where’s dude that said Simmons sells tickets and people Want to see him play ??? Guy is at the lowest point of his career and still refuses to put work in .

One of the few instances I actually don't support the player. Doesn't mean you take the org's side either but usually I'm all for giving the middle finger to the org
Yea usually orgs are trash and do the trash move first but this case is different. Yea players get shopped around all the time but you can’t blame Philly for the Rockets being petty

you can’t even do finger gun celebrations against your opponent in the NBA.

Rondo should definitely get fined and or suspended.

Srs. Just look at the timeline of the entire thing

The Bubble season he gets hurt and misses the Playoffs in which he would have definitely been exposed again. That actually saved his reputation another year

Then the next year there's the trade rumors with Harden. Nothing foul there. All-Stars are on the trade block quite a bit. Harden is Harden, who wouldn't explore that trade. Simmons plays well during the regular season but flames out in the Playoffs yet again due to the same deficiencies

Doc says what he says in the heat of the moment. Foul but still understandable. The world saw the same thing. Instead of taking that as motivation to improve and prove everyone wrong, Simmons *****es out and starts acting like this whole thing didn't stem from the fact that he's not a Playoff player

Turning down the Brogdon trade was terrible but still, nothing related to how Ben chose not to work on his game to up his trade value. His trade value is determined exactly by his own doing and the lack of work he put in. To trade Ben away for trash is stupid and not necessary

If Doc or Morey do nothing but coddle Ben and make up **** like "oh he's still a franchise player" etc. other GM's all of a sudden aren't going to be like "you know what, they're right, we need to get Ben here right away"

Nobody prouder of players they drafted but contributing to other teams than Lakers fans  :smh:

Equally as if not more funny is ALA trashing them and all of a sudden becoming fans after they leave the Show. There's been plenty of that.

True but I understand Morey point of view. The trade for Harden would’ve been for a true difference maker. Brogdon is too but the ceiling is maybe the same due to his injury woes. I get asking for ******** especially if difference makers aren’t available. Asking for 4 firsts is fuel to get a Dame when you also package in Maxey and Thigh Bull

Morey is delusional guy don’t play basketball whole Philly team is fed up you have to know when to take ur losses and move on man . Beal and dame trades is dead no way possible it’s happening Philly fans knows this . Malcolm brogdon is legit a perfect fit can shoot pass and hit his free throws . And he’s a a bargain price at 23m a year . Your star player Joel wants this **** solved either you with us or you not . Thighbull legit can play bens role without the passing and he’s willing to shoot the three

The thing is, is it a fact that Brogdon is still on the table? Now Indy can just hold tight with this whole situation

Ben has no reason to not come back and just play. He wasn't the first All Star to be on the trade block and certainly not the first to be criticized publicly by his coach

It's just that in a lot of cases those criticized players come out and use it as motivation

Morey been around too long to think he's gonna get equal value in a trade for an all star. He basically traded 3 bench players to get Chris Paul on the rockets. Makes his stance even more silly

B Sox B Sox

Great basketball segment on the BS Podcast this week with JA Adandes.

The Ringer’s Bill Simmons is joined by J.A. Adande to discuss the NBA 75th Anniversary Team and parallels between Magic Johnson’s turmoil with the Lakers in 1981 and the current situation with Ben Simmons and the 76ers. They also compare the 2004 Lakers and the 2021 Lakers, get into the MLB postseason, and more (2:00). Then Bill talks with NFL Network’s Peter Schrager about the 6-0 Cardinals and the upcoming Chiefs-Titans matchup before making their Million-Dollar Picks for NFL Week 7 (48:35). Finally Bill talks with renowned restaurateur Dave Chang about his new Hulu show ‘The Next Thing You Eat,’ some of Bill and Dave’s food revelations over the past year, what seems to be another painful year for fans of the Washington Football Team, family life, and more (1:39:40).

John Stockton would be sitting out with Kyrie

I remember they interviewed Stockton in the middle of one of the games recently and the vibes were heavy. Def not a guy I would want to sit and chat with. Not that that's surprising

Bens a fake tough guy which makes this look even worse . Malcolm should still be on the table with the possibility of just a straight up trade no draft picks . Get a guy who had the best year of his career last year and off to a great start this year or stick with a guy who’s at the lowest point of his career and he’s way cheaper who actually fits the team . I remember I had people saying Malcolm don’t sell tickets well guess what no wants to see Simmons play no more .

Malcom has always been the perfect fit for that team. Even with Ben there too I always wanted him to land there. Or with Luka

i agree to a degree..

like for example if Phoenix keeps f’n around with Ayton and then not giving him the max.. I think it’s BS that they can match any deal that he would get on the open market after not giving him a fair market deal when they had the chance

philly offered as much as they were able and he accepted.. in life you gotta be willing to hear no

He was offered before only reason I’m bringing it up it was on the table with two picks . Now if I’m Indy I’m just doing straight up
If I'm Indy I still wouldn't. I would wait til Caris and Warren get healthy and see where it goes. If you're going to trade Malcom and pieces you don't go after Ben when you have Sabonis and Turner already
