The Official Tennis Thread (Vol. 2024 French Open)

Welp, so much for "hard court specialist" Meddy conquering the dirt. Thought he finally turned things around on clay after winning Rome this month.

The energy in Philippe Chatrier is electric right now.

RG had no business not having lighting for this long.

Coco will definitely be able to catch the Finals. Probably all of it. She always gets bounced early.

She made the final last year. She's gonna have to get stronger if she wants to win anything. She's too small to go up against Rybakina and Sabalenka. They are the only people that Swiatek fears on the tour.

Let’s see if it’s Big Foe or Lil Foe today. Dude too cocky without the accomplishments.

The French Open has the worst crowd of the four slams. US Open night crowd is pretty bad too, but not to this level.

Fritz could barely get through that last service game or that post-match interview. I'm guessing that why Bartoli kept it to one question.

Yeah, she's been playing well. I haven't looked at the draw, but I guess this opens it up a bit for Iga?

And interesting to see what the deal is with Andreeva. We have a high-school tennis match on Suzanne Lenglen right now. 😅

Damn, that sucks about Rybakina. :frown: Iga definitely let out a huge sigh of relief hearing that news since she's been her kryptonite on tour all year.

I hope Rafa can make a full recovery when he comes back next year.

Was reading how sabalenka's 1st round opponent who was Ukrainian wouldn't shake her hand. She said she wants to talk about tennis in her post-match interviews and not be asked about belarus' involvement in the war. It doesn't seem like a country that is ok with its citizens speaking against it so I don't know why people expect her to.
