The Official Tennis Thread (Vol. 2024 US Open)

Was talking to a friend and he says "Guess we can stop comparing her to Kournikova now that she's made it to a GS finals." lol.

I hope its a 3 setter.

Feel like that injury robbed us of what could've been a potentially epic semi.

Genie is definitely the truth though.. but I'll be rooting for Petra on Sat... can't let these young upstarts get too big for their boots just yet lol.

Rooting for Novak & Boris to take the men's.

WC quarters, Wimby Finals, UFC 175... many a beer shall be ingurgitated... the diet can start again Monday

Zero interest in the ladies final. The gents semis look really good though. Need to get some sleep so I can catch both of them. Really want to see Fed join the 18 GS club.

3 double faults in a row from Grigor... don't think I've ever seen that before from a pro!

Nole gets the early break in the 4th.

Interestingly, Grigor and Nole both changed shoes... a lot.  Probably wearing out the outsoles way too fast cuz of how chewed-up the court was.

Grigor, with 4-5 pairs of Vapor 9.5's... actually switched to a pair of Lunar Ballistecs!

Horrible news.  Seems like a few tennis players have had to deal with cancer/illness this year.

I didn't realize he had a contract with an academy in Beijing

:x considering how much he has helped her mentally
