The Old PlayStation Thread | *NEW THREAD IS UP*

While my level has not yet updated, here is Sony's new trophy formula.

New trophy point values:
  • Bronze: 15
  • Silver: 30
  • Gold: 90
  • Platinum: 300
New trophy level calculation:
Once again, the trophy level calculation is not a smooth curve, but rather has cut-offs. Here is how it works:
  • Levels 1 - 99: 60 points (4 bronzes) per level up
  • Levels 100 - 199: 90 points (6 bronzes) per level up
  • Levels 200 - 299: 450 points (30 bronzes) per level up
  • Levels 300 - 399: 900 points (60 bronzes) per level up
  • Levels 400 - 499: 1350 points (90 bronzes) per level up
  • Levels 500 - 599: 1800 points (120 bronzes) per level up
  • Levels 600 - 699: 2250 points (150 bronzes) per level up
  • Levels 700 - 799: 2700 points (180 bronzes) per level up
  • Levels 800 - 899: 3150 points (210 bronzes) per level up
  • Levels 900 - 999: 3600 points (240 bronzes) per level up

Platinuming a single game gets you to level 23 now. It takes a total of 1631340 points to reach level 999, which equals roughly 1200 full games platinumed.

Pretty lazy on their end, in my opinion.

Edit: Some math tells me I'll be sitting at 550ish.

This might be the first announced compatible drive for PS5 as shown in the image.

$230 for 7GB/s Read and 5.3GB/s write.

I'm level 342, yours hasnt updated yet from what I can see

They should have just made it compatible with gen 3 NVMe SSDs... not worth paying twice as much for the slight advantages in speed.

We would've been stuck with that speed though for the next 7 years.

Gen 4 SSD's on the other hand will go down in price. The 5GB/s SSD's have gone down in price already in the space of a year.

Nah they could have made it work... just like I can still choose to put either one of those drives in my computer.

dumb question but do you need an external usb to transfer your data from ps4 to ps5?

would signing into my account just transfer it over ?

Games will be built for the 5.5GB SSD in the PS5 so any expansion SSD needs to be as fast if not faster.

PC OS' and games still have HDD's as their lowest common denominator so its a free for all as to what you can put inside a PC.

Not dumb at all because I myself am trying to figure out how to cross over saves. I’m willing to let all my saves go and just start fresh EXCEPT for SF5, I’ll be damned.

Wondering how purchased retro games work too. I want to play SF anniversary collection and USF4 on my PS5

everything I've read on this is confusing. but from what I gathered is that it will depend on the developer. may have to start some games from the beginning again

Guess I'll be picking up MK 11 when I get a PS5.

Hopefully by then the Super Ultimate It's Really the Final Edition (We Promise) is out by then.

Has anyone's trophy level updated yet?
