Well now this gets very interesting. It's gonna be a chess match between managers.

Phillies can't exactly send Hamels back out there, cuz he's due up to bat when this resumes. Philly is gonna want as many quality at-bats as they canget, so they're gonna have to send out a pinch-hitter. Balfour had relieved Kaz, so the Rays could immediately relieve him, if needed. But then what... Dothey send a starter out there, or risk it with their bullpen and the youngster, Price? I think since the Phillies are gonna have the top of the order, andheart of the lineup, batting in these later innings, the Rays should consider sending a starter out. The Rays, however, will have the bottom of their lineupbatting, with Navarro being the next Tampa player to step to the plate. So with where the batting orders sit right now, Philadelphia has the advantage. Butwith not being able to send Hamels back out, then maybe it's about even...?

Decisions, decisions.

phillies were cheated, they should of at least played the bottom of the 6th last night or just call the game at the 5th inning....Tampa bay only scored theirrun in the 6th cause of the rain so they should of gave the phillies the same opportunity.

BJ Upton hit that ball hard to the hole, even if Rollins would have fielded that ball cleanly, he would have had to turn around and make a perfect throw to have a chance. Rollins is a great SS, with great range, but it would have been a stretch to get BJ Upton. He is just too fast. Furthermore, BJ Upton stole a base in the mud. That is not easy to do and only shows how fast Upton is, and how good he is at stealing bases.

Now, the hit Pena had is a perfect example of both teams dealing with the elements. Pat Burrell couldn't charge the ball due to the rain, and BJ Upton had to trudge through mud to round 3b. So, IMO, it was very fair.

Saying the Rays only scored that run due to the rain is a disservice to the postseason baserunning skills of BJ Upton. You still need that hit from Carlos Pena to score that run, and if you think it is hard pitching in the rain, try hitting in the rain. Both are difficult.

There is no way that they could have played the bottom of the 6th, MLB held out for as long as possible, by the Top of the 6th the field was a mess.

1. you dont know what rollins could of done if the playing conditions were different

2. you even stated by the top of the 6th the field was a mess....so why even play the 6th

for it to be fair they should of ended the game once a full inning was completed...you are just hating cause your stankin dogers got murked

it aint about upton beating that out, how about hamels only threw a fastball that whole inning he had no grip on changeup or breaking ball. that's wherethey got their advantage. TB has no shot at even being close to as good as the phillies its rediculous. No matter what happens and who wins the world seriesphils got shafted. I was at the game, from the bottem 4th on it down poured.

Kazmir wasn't getting ANY calls last night behind the plate

Yeah that's what I said.

He threw strike 3 to Burrell in the first, and threw strike 4 (FOUR!) to Burrell in the 5th. He was getting no calls. The Phillies should not have scored inthe first inning at all.

This series is a mess. But then again, it is a bit of a metaphor for the sport....

the rain delay is going to be the excuse of whichever team loses, and each team will have a legit gripe also.

if philly blows the 3-1 lead, the rain killed all the momentum they had and most likely caused them to not be able to finish the game with their best pitcher.

if tampa were to tie the series at 3-3, cole hammels most likely pitches game 7 on 3 days rest and if he plays well tampa fans are going to blame the rain forallowing hammels to get one extra start in.

that being said, i think philly still got this, hopefully it goes 6 or 7 though because i don't want baseball season to be over just yet.
