I usually only buy vans with no foxing stripe because I don't like it 

If i could remove it Id buy so many more pairs 

I've always liked the clean white midsole

Yeah, I dont buy vans with foxing strip either but this price was too good.

People have been saying paint but also they say paint will crack. I wonder if there is a special paint for rubber usually rubber is baked in vs. painted over.

I've heard also removing the stripe with a exacto knife but not sure if that works on Vans as it does for Chucks.
