For the kobe argument:: he spent 2003-2008 losing, so missed alotta time closing the distance between him and MJ.

MJ spent approx his first 7 yrs losing as well...your point? MJ will not be surpassed in our lifetime especially if we keep getting daniel son's who keep trying to mimic his every move instead of creating their own lanes and be original. I am not impressed by seeing an attempted carbon copy MJ....MJ is already home and i have seen it already and seen it done better with way better competition.

This is a good thread, unfortunately no one will eclipse Jordan. Simply because many throw in Jordan's off court success, when discussing his greatness as a PLAYER. One may eclipse his stats/accolades, but no one will achieve his off court success. However I do believe someone will come along in the next 50 years or less and become a better BASKETBALL player than Mike. Props to GMS for grave-digging.
