Yooo, Kanye on Sway in the Morning. (updated)

Ricky you're young and in Dallas too. Were you raised here?
Can you honestly say that you haven't seen an influx of Timberlands?
Especially among the college crowd.
I'm born and raised in Dallas and I've honestly never seen Timbs pop like they are now.
It doesn't even snow or get cold like that for us to have them on deck like that.
Maybe when velour suits and Sean John ensembles were hot and it was mainly forces then.
I want to hear from people not from New York as it's an understood staple there.
forgot I was I'm the D for a min famb... My b...

I was thinking in Houston eyes...

I haven't seen an influx of timbos our here doe...

But then again... I may not be looking. I'll keep an eye out though...

Kanye Is the greatest thing since Jesus himself

Kanye made Jesus hot. Nobody cared about Jesus before "Jesus Walks"

Age:2013

Timbs been popping in NY since the 90s fambs. They were and are still a winter staple. NY rappers influenced the style to an extent.

Where's Ninjahood to make sense of this all?

Sales tripled when rappers started endorsing Timberlands.
According to Timberland, the company's sales more than tripled in the '90s—the same time the boots became a huge part of hip-hop and urban culture. The '90s were all about the classic six-inch boots. We saw Das EFX, Mobb Deep, DMX, and more rock them in their videos, at performances, and at events. Biggie even name-dropped the brand in a verse when he said he liked black Timbs and black hoodies in "Suicidal Thoughts."

Will Em ever go back to being like he was for the Marshall Mathers LP?

Hov ever go back to being like he was on on Volume 2?

Nas ever gon' be as real as he was on Illmatic or even Stillmatic?

Nah man, times have changed. These artists have all sold out. The hunger is gone, the glimmer is gone. All we can really do is just remember the glory days and embrace and recognize when the next great rapper arrives, before he loses himself.

Just wanted to comment on this post from the second page and say that Nas still makes good music...

Where's the voice from the mom Kardashian's talk show? And why can't he look at Sway, even when he is bugging out he can't look him in the eye.

Power 106 was playing the "YOU AINT GOT THE ANSWERS SWAY" a few times before every Kanye song tonight :lol

When it comes to a Kanye rant you really have to separate the BS from the actual sense he makes.

I think if you were to put Kanye's thoughts and expressions inside Bun B and let Bun explain it we would all be doing the weebay gif.

but yo, I know that eventually the jersey fad era would have come to an end, but what would it of had gone to? Kanye made it ok to not be a G.

I truly cant stand Kanye, and he has an incredibly inflated view of his accomplishments and influence.....but yall cant front on his influence on Urban Fashion today. Ye is def responsible for the resurgence of timbs amongst the masses. Most dudes left timbs for Nike boots in the early 2000's. Only dudes in New York still rocked Timbs. I know in Baltimore, Timbs were clowned on heavy after like 01 other than beef and brocs.

Like somebody said earlier, Timbs are a staple..and he didnt make them initially hot, but he's surely the one who brought them back to the masses. You got cats rocking them with their skinny jeans like this with the freaked tongues.

Dude is also responsible for the resurgence of Jesus pieces, leather pants, infared 6's being hyped, flyknits, tskirts, Visvim, balmain jeans, givenchy, margiela, and basically what is sought after now. He's a trend ***** and a hypebeast, so its easy to see why in this climate, he's influential

I can't even imagine you being serious with this statement.

Don't give me that typical Livewire Gang, The Jacka, etc. trash to prove me wrong. @#$@%@ garbage. Those dudes have struggle bars for days, but even then they don't make me cringe as much as a Kanye song.

lol i like how his voice is so deep and manly on here, yet he sounded like he had just been neutered on kims moms show.

kanye brought back walking, dudes weren't walking till they saw yeezy do it.

I saw a part of this interview and this dudes voice sounded like a girlier version of Michael Jackson.

These interviews have helped me understand Kanye a bit more.

But two things.

When he's explaining something, like how he feels about something he very often seemingly gets lost in the emotion that comes from talking about it and the clarity and pertinence of his argument breaks down and can get lost.

Also, he feel very strongly about his ability to influence and have a lasting effect on culture and the world as a whole. But I feel that while he's an extremely successful artist, to describe yourself as a Walt Disney, a Steve Jobs etc he's simply not there yet. Its like he sees where he CAN get to if he didn't have perceived/actual roadblocks and speaking as if he's already there, when he's not. Because of this he often comes off as being delusional and grandiose.

Right or wrong?

I'm 26 and my last two posts in this thread got glossed over with the swiftness.

Only comments about timbs and Jordan's are getting quoted over and over.

I wish sway reported for CNN or something. Throw him on fox with the republicans. I sure it would be entertaining. Too bad those reporters make peanuts.
