Yooo, Kanye on Sway in the Morning. (updated)

Most def, I'm well aware. You have to 'fit in to get in' - so to speak, understandable. I laud the dude for his achievements, I'm sure he worked hard.

The point I speak to primarily deals with assimilation and conformity. I don't know dude, but I'm sure he and many others -regardless of race- have studied these high end fashion designers and noticed a pattern. A pattern he may or may not have followed - I can only guess. A pattern that you also noticed and directed to my attention.  It's human nature to conform, especially to conform within the images of what you deem to be successful. And once you've conformed you will be allowed to assimilate. The pattern speaks for itself in all walks of life and is very natural. The problem and contention presents itself when one conforms to the 'unnatural' to be accepted and thus...assimilated...which cancels out any real true identity.
You have a lot of description for a guy you didn't even know existed a few moments ago, now you have him pegged down to a t huh? Any real true identity? What in the lords name are you talking about?

Conformity? In a business in which conformity is looked down upon a black man must do anyway to fit in? You are talking in circles.

You missed the point entirely.

Just in this thread it's insane.

I thought your sarcasm was fairly blatant but I guess I was wrong :lol

regardless of what you think...this thread is 40 pages long, pharrels is 2 pages long, and we have threads about Kanye every other week.
Controversy sells, if anything, Kanye is that. And then he backs controversy with his music, his concerts, his shoes, and maybe his clothes...

He wants backing, because he is wasting time trying to get this company off the ground
And because he can't get the company off the ground, he can't put work in the music, the shoes, the concerts.

and if he can't make great music (which hes proven he can) his relevancy goes down.
If his relevancy goes down, then his product won't sell as much.

the problem with kanye, is that he wants to do everything.
which is also what a lot of people like about Kanye.

Regardless, if he doesn't get the company off the ground or not, he is easily, the most entertaining entertainer there is.
From his wife, to his relationship with paparazzi, to his music, to his concerts, to his fashion...

We absolutely can not question his ambition, his work ethic, and his knowledge. Pioneer at his finest. But he has to work on people skills. Egomaniac. then again he doesn't have to work on anything cuz he Kanye (which is probably what he thinking lol)

Do you know what the word pioneer means? What did he pioneer?

That's how we're defining "influential?"

Well then, Kim Kardashian and Justin Beiber deserve some type of official award for influence.

Kanye will fade just like every trend that has ever existed.

In 20 yrs we might look back and be like yo that track was hot, but nobody will give a s*** about what he's trying to prove now.

Some new arrogant n**** will always pop up next.

Bless your heart.  You might want to know the definition of "generation" before you go using that word so loosely champ.

Kanye's beef is about money and classism. He's rich but not wealthy like these high-end fashion ranks that he wants to align himself with. They won't "throw him a bone" because he along with entertainers in general are just a flash in the pan in terms of relevance and influence. Some of these brands are century old and beyond, ain't no way they're letting one man come in and shake up the establishment overnight. At best they'll do like nike and give him a collab while marginalizing it to the benefit of their own company and sending on his way when the well dries up. These designers kanye is sitting with at these fashion shows have been there for generations, some are children and grandchildren continuing the legacy. I understand what kanye wants to achieve, but it won't be those guys spearheading his entrenance to high end fashion.

i know it's the eve of Jay's birthday and you probably bought yourself some presents so you're anxious and all, but Kanye's had the biggest impact in hip hop since he's jumped in the game...he's even an integral part of Jay's success...

You know, I try to do the right thing and help you dudes out and lead folks along the right path but then an ungrateful individual such as yourself gives a comment like that and let's me know that there is still more work that needs to be done.  By definition, a generation is about 25 years.  Kanye has not even been in the game for half of that amount.  Your initial statement on this matter was dead wrong at face value and you should be ridiculed accordingly.

tired of hearing about kanye and the people that adore him. What has he done for yall. besides wait on a shoe for countless hours or even days

name five artist who have literally shifted culture each and every time they dropped an album that started out after 1988 and we can go toe to toe...

so why hop in a Kanye thread??? what has he done to you to make you so mad that every time you hear his name you gotta comment??? we're fans, so we have an excuse for constantly talking about him, what's yours???

How did he shift culture?

-around BP/College Dropout, he bought soul samples to the fore front.
-made a lane for non-violent rappers to eat on a mainstream level.
-have everybody rockin Polo and fake LV bags (i know people rocked Polo before Ye, but you'd be lying to deny how big it got at the time)
-around Graduation day, streetwear/high end clothing started making buzz in the urban communities.
-huge electronic influence explosion in hip hop after Stronger
-GITD changed production value on a hip hop tour

shutter shades, Yeezy's, LV kicks, leather jogging pants...look through some of these kids tumblrs and tell me you can't see his fashion influence...could go on...

name somebody else to do it on that level in the past 25...

n includes the original laces, original removable screw-on lace tips, original insoles, original packing paper, original lace locks, original packing paper, original dust bag with removable screw-on gold lace tips, original price sticker still intact, and the original box. The current value of these Air Yeezy 2 NRG's is approximately $14,520.00. These Air Yeezy 2 NRG's were released on Saturday, June 9, 2012 in extremely limited amounts, to select Nike accounts, and sold out immediately.
Is this legit? Yezzy 2s work $14k?

That's laughable, and the sad part about it is there are plenty of lames that would pay that price for them.

Pretty sure Nelly was a non violent mainstream rapper

Brainwashed

not only did Nelly talk about selling drugs, smoking weed and bustin gats, but he was always heavily criticized in the hip hop community for his music...not to mention, his window only lasted about 5 years and faded

Ye never talked about any of that stuff, is an critically acclaimed artist and is still the most talked about person in the industry (as seen in this 42 page thread)...

nice try tho
