I work in academia so my hours are "flexible" but I put in about 50-80 hours a week. I sometimes wish I had weekends but I'm used to the hours and like my job overall,
I would add that a lot of it is also portion sizes and trying to consume whatever is in the container/package/dish in front of you. People have a tendency to eat what is there on the table.
Also, attitudes about food really matter. Especially in the U.S., people have a love/hate relationship...
