2011 College Football "The Real been hacked!!!!" .

Texas to the B1G
laugh.gif
.
Why does this deserve a "
laugh.gif
"?  It's been talked about for a couple years now.

After what just went down, I think Sork deserves some breathing room...for the time being.
Those will be the big boys, will be interesting to see if Notre Dame finally caves and joins the B1G.
I posed this question recently and got no feedback.

EDIT:

Texas and OU are in deep negotiations right now.

4 pod system. (Cali schools)(NW schools)(Tx,TTU, OU, OSU)(Utah, Colorado, Az schools)
9 game conference schedule.
Play every team in your "pod" plus 2 from every other "pod".

Lot of moving parts.

This is set up nicely if it goes down.

Egg on my face.

Even when he said it in here it seemed outlandish, though. The damn Commish of the BE didn't even see that happening.

ComeUp, hypothetically say the Big East is no longer. Where does UC go?

Honestly, the insiders keep saying that we'll be alright and they can't divulge all of the info. Initially, if Oklahoma stayed in the B12 it sounded like Pitt, UC, and UL were B12 bound. Now it sounds like that fell through so that's as far as I know. They said the worst case would be forming a conference with BE/B12 leftovers. There was a great chance that us and Louisville end up together wherever we go. Not even sure if that's the case anymore.
Why is UC being left out of the other big conferences?
laugh.gif

Big East football champs a few years back. Football is starting to gain steam, basketball is still building off the NCAA return last year.

I'm not to much into college insider stuff so can someone provide info on why UC is not in the BIG talks?

Location/academic reasons.

Academic reasons as in they aren't strict enough?

Location? Would that be partially due to UK and Ohio State splitting our fan base?

Damn why we gotta be the Slutty Dime piece whose dumb or the Smart Ugly duckling?

There are only going to be 4 "big" conferences.

The PAC-? and SEC are out of the question.  I don't know if I can rule them out of the SEC entirely, but I wouldn't put hope into that.

The ACC now officially has 14 schools.  You have to think they're only gonna take 2 more, right?
Connecticut - invite to ACC/B1G
Rutgers - invite to ACC (they might want B1G, but if Conn & Syracuse go, ACC)
South Florida -invite to ACC
So one of these schools is gonna get left out of the ACC?

USF better beg these dudes to let them join, because UCONN/Rutgers is safe either way between the B1G and ACC.

UC's best hope to be apart of one of the 4 "big" conferences is to join the B1G, but I don't think they'll want them for academic reasons if history is any indication.

The B1G will probably finish off the conference from the following (only need 4): Notre Dame, Missouri, Rutgers, Kansas, Iowa St. and maybe even Kansas State or Baylor.

No shots at UC from me whatsoever, I'm just putting the situation out there.

Some schools are gonna get %@*%#+ in the #%# in the end and it's not gonna be pretty.

Man its sounding like UC's best bet is to hope that the Big East eats good off the leftovers.

Basketball wise, they'll be fine. But football, they NEED U of L, TCU and many others to stay or join. Its sounding like The Big 12 and Big East may need to merge IF THAT'S POSSIBLE because they are getting smacked around.

Hogan is the Big East/Big 12

Even if the Big East and Big 12 combine, there is gonna be no star power left after the Big 4 raid through them.

Like Statis alluded to, TCU is the biggest loser in all of this.

Easier said than done but the remaining schools will HAVE to go and BEAT the new super conference schools.

Gotta take out the biggest dog/s in the yard if you want respect.

Unrelated but props to TCU for Andy Dalton.

There will still be conferences outside of the "Big 64", however, if you think it is difficult to get to the national championship game, teams like Boise State and TCU will have it even tougher.

Really sucks for TCU, they should just kill the move to the Big East and stay in the MWC with Boise State.  There is no benefit to moving now and the Big East more than likely loses it's automatic quailifier status once all these moves get done.  Still not happy about Texas Tech jumping on board, would've been better to land Missouri.  Rumor is Missouri is being courted by the B1G.

I don't think Rutgers is a slam dunk in either the ACC or B1G.  The ACC will be taking a big gamble taking either Rutgers or USF.  One is a program that was a doormat for a long time, and the other is a program that began a little over a decade ago.  I don't see UCONN slipping from the ACC's hands and that has nothing to do with the football team,
laugh.gif
.  It is clear that the ACC is making moves with Football/Basketball in mind as opposed to the other conferences (College Hoops is bigger in the East Coast/Northeast).

TCU, Boise, BYU, Notre Dame, Kansas, Cincy, Louisville...

Biggest losers as of now: TCU Football, Kansas/Louisville Basketball.

Why does this deserve a "
laugh.gif
"?  It's been talked about for a couple years now.
It wasn't what he said, it was how he said.  He had the Big East breakdown to a T, it was solid.  In fact it had already leaked on a few CFB message boards.  Then went all in on the Texas to the B1G, which was a hail mary type prediction.

Texas to the B1G hasn't been a serious discussion for a couple of years now, B1G courted Texas like they've been courting Notre Dame.  They got fed up with both and ended up with Nebraska.  The only two realistic options for Texas was the Pac "16" or to keep the Big XII together.  The ACC was a bluff, which was called early by the ACC.  They wanted no part of that song and dance and moved in their best interest.

Leaves Texas with the choice of being a part of a major conference or being Independent.  Being Independent is not all that its cracked up to be, it works for Notre Dame due to it's national profile, national fan base and sweetheart tv deal from NBC.  Texas only has one of those things (national profile for those that can't figure it out), and even ESPN knows that the LHN will not survive with Texas programming alone.

Texas is the beautiful girl that rejected every dude at the dance 'cause everyone was hitting her up, then she started seeing every dude getting cuffed up, so now shes feeling left out.

Nike-  To answer your question.  Notre Dame has a ton of leverage and they know it.  So them joining the B1G is still not a guarantee.  Most fans want to see that, but I'm not sure it will happen.  Notre Dame has everything it needs, and it doesn't have to worry about being left out if the BCS stays in tact or if a playoff system is created.

Like I stated, Notre Dame has a national profile, a huge national fan base and it's own tv deal.  They rake in with that NBC deal, and that is just for home games, and get paid by ESPN/ABC when road games get aired.  They are a big draw any way you slice it so they don't have the issues that TCU/Boise State has getting invited to major bowls.  Their fans travel and they travel well.  As an Independent they don't have any trouble with scheduling, you don't turn down Notre Dame when they want to schedule you, it's a huge draw.

Most are saying that Notre Dame will have to join a super conference now, I highly doubt it.  Since any post season system put in place will have a "Notre Dame" clause, much like how the BCS has one now.

FSU is a green to the SEC, pretty sure they won't have to pay the increased buyout fee, giving the SEC 16. As I said in my initial post, a lot of it was already confirmed, everyone was just waiting on someone to set it all in motion. I didn't list OU for a reason, due to them possibly tagging along with UT.  Mentioned before that there is a lot more moving that will happen, some that are mind boggling, others that are expected. C-USA/MWC definitely will be making moves, but the B1G will do everything in the power to try and get Rutgers to their conference.

Nah, football revenue reasons. We aren't going to bring as big of a fanbase as others schools. Improving academics might save them at the end of the day. They saw one of the biggest jumps in this years US News rankings, plus it's a research institution, and on the verge of AAU membership. The President's academic improvements might save the school when this is all said and done.

And Florida is cool with FSU joining the SEC?
