2011 College Football "The Real been hacked!!!!" .

"Chip's job is quite safe," Lariviere said Saturday. "We've cooperated with the NCAA very extensively and looked at this really, really carefully internally, and I have very high confidence in this group of people. Very high confidence."

Everything I have read concerning FSU going into the SEC is that UF, UGA, USC and UK would all be against them coming, thus not allowing it to happen.

I haven't seen USF thrown around for the ACC anywhere.

I think the main goal is to get ND and Tejas, but the chances of either happening are pretty slim. I think we take two from UConn, Rutgers, or possibly Louisville.

Good stuff, Iron Man.

I disagree w/ a few things, though.
I don't think Rutgers is a slam dunk in either the ACC or B1G.
The B1G wants Rutgers bad and has for some time.  They want to expand the market out to Jersey and Rutgers has solid academics.  Rutgers is a slam dunk to be included in one of these conferences.
there is gonna be no star power left after the Big 4 raid through them.
TCU, Boise, BYU, Notre Dame, Kansas, Cincy, Louisville...
That's enough star power for a football conference compared to these new mega conferences?  This conference doesn't make any sense whatsoever geographically as well.

Notre Dame is gonna join this makeshift conference instead of the B1G?

The only 2 teams w/ star power in this conference football wise are TCU & Boise (who are hot at the moment type programs).

Kansas, Cincy and Louisville will probably form a college basketball power conference w/ all the leftovers if it gets to this point (Georgetown, Marquette, St. John's, Xavier, Providence, DePaul, Seton Hall, possibly Gonzaga, etc.)

And ComeUp, you're closer to Cincy's situation than I am, but their academic status isn't helping their cause w/ the B1G.

FSU to the SEC is OD (not saying it won't happen).

Northwestern is staying in the B1G though, right?

Historically, yes. Currently, it definitely is. The media wasn't talking about Cincy ending up in the BE when that realignment happened, but when the dust was settled we were there. Insiders feel confident from what they've heard that at the end of the day that Cincy will be in a BCS conference. I guess that's all that matters anyways, since it's heading towards a College Playoff. There will be some serious lawsuits filed versus a lot of schools, and possibly ESPN too. This whole thing is getting ugly.

I wasn't saying they would form a conference
laugh.gif
, you misread.

You said there would be no star power outside the "Big 4" conferences. I pointed out some teams/schools with star power that look like they will be on the outside looking in. No way Notre Dame would ever align itself with a school like Boise State, just on academics alone.

.

I still don't think Rutgers is a slam dunk, possibilty yes, good chance yes. Slam dunk, no.

TCU being left out makes me mad, but what pisses me off even worse is the teams like Minnesota, Duke, Rutgers, Vandy, etc...getting into the party when really they arent worth anything. At this point there are really only 2 options for TCU. Hope the Big East and Big 12 can merge, or just stay in the !!#!*%$ MWC

But how many BCS conferences are there going to be?  Probably only 4.

I already went through the options for the Bearcats.

PAC-? ain't happening.
SEC is very slim to none.
ACC could potentially fill up before this week is over.
laugh.gif

That leaves the B1G.

I just don't see it.  I honestly feel like Cincy has a decent chance at being one of, if not the most screwed over schools out of all of this in the end.

Solid football program w/ a new stadium and recent BCS birth and obvious tradition in hoops.
ohwell.gif

This %!** is going to get ugly as hell.  I honestly find it fascinating, though.  UCONN's move is going to be huge.

EDIT:

Iron Man...

Nah, I didn't misread.  I originally said there would be no star power left to form a conference for UC (including all the leftovers).  I was answering RKO.

And Rutgers was the next option behind Nebraska.  Those dudes are as good as in (even the ACC is courting).  B1G is salivating over the New York/Jersey market and east coast.

Texas did overplay their hand with their network but right now the difference between ND and UT in terms of independence is ND has another conference to house their other sports which UT wouldn't.

They'll have to scale it back talking about the network.

Trust y'all ain't missing a thing in CUSA.

**** Justice threw a idea of TCU, Baylor, SMU, UH, Rice, KU, KSU, Cincy, ISU, Boise St, BYU, and Memphis around. Sounded kinda neat even though it would stll be the little brother conference.

-Trelvis: Can't say that about the MWC. TCU made the move to go to the Big East. AQ status and being king of that conference. Now that conference is a shell of it's former self.

- NIKE: Then I misread.

-Statis- Will ND keep it's sports in the Big East now that the premiere teams of the conference have moved on? Just to add on the Texas to ACC bluff. The only real interest in the ACC that Texas had was as a conference to house it's other teams, in case they had to go independent. They knew the Pac 12, B1G and SEC would've said "No". ACC was their only chance aside from the Big East. ACC with the move they just made just told Texas, bring your football team or go kick rocks.

Texas to the Pac 12 is far from done. Seems like the snag will be the LHN, Pac 12 willing to let the Longhorns regional portion (Texas & TTU programming) of the Pac 16 Network be called the Pac 16 Longhorn Network.

Lawsuits? Only one that has any grounds to sue is ESPN/ABC since tv contracts are being broken. However, ESPN, has a lot to gain from this. Baylors litigation was toothless, that's why OU, aTm and Texas keep pushing. Nothing against leaving a conference as long as exit fees are paid.

This is historic, dust will settle in 4-6 weeks. Only thing certain is that the ACC has two new members and the SEC has one (aTm) with another pending (West Virginia).
