Oh Dreamcast took off, it's just that when it came out, it didn't build up much momentum before PS2 came out dropped the hammer on them, then XBox right after.
I didn't even get a PS2 until 2003 cause I was so delusional about Dreamcast going under

I was struggling to keep that until my VMUs ran out.

I mean, I'm confused, you were 8-9 when the decade ended so did you really "grow up" in the 90's?
Shenanigans...

Furthermore, all the %*%# you guys mentioning about the 90's and mostly posting stuff from 1995-99,

Truly growing up in the 90's is appreciated but wouldn't go back to it,

.  I just love tech, so that alone, pshhh.

Every decade has it's pro's and con's. The culture of the 90's if you truly grew up in it, was incredible.

I was born in '82, so I feel like I grew up in the 90's... I was 8 when the decade turned, hit high school mid-decade and graduated at the end.

No real responsibilities and plenty of good times.

Pokemon, Power Rangers hit the floor running in the mid-90's.  I was in middle school so I was "too cool" for it,

Toys, even though there is some carryover from the late 80's:

I could go on with stuff from the mid-90's and on.  Being a teen in the mid-90's
smokin.gif
, so much going on culture wise: music, movies, kicks, sports.

Didn't care too much for cars in the 90's 'cause I couldn't drive legally.  Not a fan of cars in the 90's even though there were some classics (Mustang 5.0, Impala, Integra, BMW's, Civics)

There were so many things happening in tv/movies/music in the late 90's that 14-15 yr old wouldn't grasp or appreciate.

Anyone else remember Turbo Grafix 16?..Came out around the time the SNES did and it was much better..Had way better games and graphics, but just didn't have the Nintendo marketing machine behind it..Great console that I still got sittin in my parents basement somewhere..

Word to this.

If you were born in the early 90's you came of age in the 2000s.

If you were born in the early 80's, you came of age in the 90s.

If you didn't wear your clothes backwards to school one day when Kriss Kross came out then you're not of the 90s.

bringin back my power rangers memories.

Just to name a few in a couple of categories...
Music:

-East Coast/West Coast Beef (Mid 90's)

- Grunge Movement (Early 90's)

- Deep House in the late 90's

Movies

-1994 Oscar Race (Shawshank, Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump)

- The evolution of the summer blockbuster.

- Quentin %++*$%+ Tarantino

TV

-The rise of comedy sitcoms (Seinfeld, Friends, Fresh Prince, etc.)

- The rise of tv dramas (NYPD Blue, ER)

...yeah, you weren't grasping or appreciating any of it until the following decade
wink.gif

Yeah, that's true. The 90s for me was mostly childhood, but ended with me in HS. I'm happy with my 90s experience.
I have memories of all those, but it was more just day to day life and taken for granted. Didn't really know how great they were until, like you said, the 2000s.

Discovery zone and Fun Escape

90s had the best cartoons and nick shows easily
2pac, Biggie, and Jordan at their peak
90s sneaker game (oh forgot some of you don't like that word, well replace with scene if it's an issue)....at least 80% of my collection consist of sneakers I couldn't get back then.
laugh.gif

Sega Genesis was in heavy rotation for me....just a few I had were nba live 96, aladdin, tecmo bowl, streets of rage, primetime nfl, lion king, mortal kombat, Nba Jam

I hated ZEO with a passion. It was soo boring. And that stupid mystery of the gold ranger and how they shafted my boy Billy.
Anyway, what about QZAR people. I loved that place, even though keeping score was a pain in the $%#

DZ and Leaps N Bounds were awesome.

I feel like the 90's was a relatively care-free decade, then Bush got elected, but things were still OK.

Then 9/11 totally messed up the American psyche, and we really haven't recovered since.
