As said before, depends on the chick. I grew my hair out for a year cut it, regretted it, and grew it back. 
Some girls say "cut that sh#@" others say " omg I love your hair."  Just do you.

I prefer short to medium length. If it's brushing your shoulders. Pass. Dreadlocks are alright though.. As long as they don't smell

Facial hair is nice though.
