How important is RELIGION in a Relationship?

I would date outside my background, religion but when it comes to marriage i am not so sure.
Like some one else said your family's opinion and open mindedness comes into play. I would marry a girl outside
my religion but my family wouldn't approve of it or they would but after a while..
I am muslim btw
