I WANT TO ENCOURAGE A MORE CONSTRUCTIVE DISCUSSION OVER RACE RELATIONS ON NT

No AZ and Fabolous are American and Dominican, both their parents were black.

Its clear you're da problem on this thread anton..Fabolous & AZ have described themselves as Black & Dominican numerous times.

@ninjahood

Well, there's clearly no right answer. Agree to disagree, I suppose.

I don't mean to accuse you of those things, just explaining my perspective when I have this discussion with a number of people who think similarly to you. I apologize if you took it that way, though.

Lol so why are Africans, Haitians, Jamaicans called black on that census you keep posting.

this gon' be good.....

Black and african american are used interchangeably here in da US...

That DOES NOT translate in Latin America.

Because da term african American are its OWN ethnicity SEPARATE from latin American.

Thats why there's a difference between being Latin American & african American.

Everyone knows this except anton apparently... :{ :lol

Thats outdated, da census i posted up are da 2020 update "BECAUSE MOST HISPANICS "CHOSE OTHER RACE" instead of white or black in 2010.

Haven't u been reading ANY of da articles i posted? :{ Hispanics dont identify with white OR black hence y they changed it.

Da same census you're using as the end all be all for why you're not black clearly disagrees with you on who is and isn't black yet some how you're missing this?

at bringing up NYCHA
I brought it up because this is a piece of the information I track on a regular basis for about 15000 residents in New York City Housing Authority developments. Residents self declare race and ethnicity, so I have a fair understanding of the topic at hand.

I'm not sure if the designatons change depending on where you look, so I'm letting you all know where I'm working from.

In all fairness, Black and White are political constructs. "African-Americans" and I quoted that because of how many generations we've been removed from Africa, are no more than dark-skinned Americans. Only African-Americans are those that really immigrated from Africa and call the U.S. home.

Always a pleasure to see Ninjahood defend his Dominican =/= black rhetoric though :lol Welcome back b.

Approx, How many hispanics/Latino check black as opposed to white?

AKA, how many Latinos need the ninjahood scolding?
