Lock.

I'll try to write something more...since I do know what you're going through with the academic pressure and all that. When I was in HS I wasn't depressed, but it definitely added stress and worries back in the day over what college would accept me, all that stuff. Now that I'm older and I've graduated college (UCSD) all that doesn't really matter. In the big picture, what college you go to doesn't matter as much as what connections you make, what you do with your education, etc. You'll realize 5 years later that all this stuff you're worrying about now pales in comparison to what you'll face later on.

With a 3.0 you may not be able to get into the top, top schools, but there are so many good colleges in the US to choose from that would gladly take you. Don't even worry about it, and if you have to take the Juco route that's a great option too. There's no shame in that at all. Point is, that's not something you need to worry about especially as a junior in HS. Parents may add that pressure on you but at the end of the day, everything happens for a reason, so just work hard and live with the results, whatever happens.

honestly, IMO his problems aren't that serious. I've had a lot worse.

BUT regardless, its how he's feeling. someone could go through some things such as loosing a family member and feel like life is over, but someone else can feel that it's not that serious because they have been through tougher.

Whether or not any of you guys think its serious, its serious to him and that's all that matters

I only read the first page and this one... not sure if you're actually depressed or just feeling inadequate compared to your sisters.
If you are scared a 3.0 won't get you anywhere... umm... it gets you into a lot of schools. They try to be low-key, but my school takes a lot of kids with grades as low as 2.2 but they stick them in remedial programs. Why? Because it's a private school and they love to take your $33,000. I had a blast my freshman year in the dorms, DO NOT go to a CC.

If you are ACTUALLY depressed... seek treatment, start learning about possible medications, make an appt with a specialist. There's a very good chance that once you get on something like Zoloft that your quality of life will improve dramatically.

OP is a perfect sign of the times.  Kids in this generation are downright pathetic.
Entitlement

Inability to persevere

Outright disrespectful

I entered this post hoping to provide some encouragement, because I know all about depression.  But once I read the post and the following comments...+**% that

Any recent HS'ers been in my position?

I keep hearing how HARD it is to get in colleges but i really dont wanna believe it. I know i shouldnt take it lightly, but i feel like its over exaggerated.

no you really need to man up
I literally studied for 1 day before i took the SAT, im pretty sure whatever you get will be good enough to get into a uni, I did.

Your GPA is good enough to get into a university, i knew dudes who were in the 2.0 range who still went to a university

I was barely in any clubs, the %$!! i was in i dont even remember, plus universities dont even care as much as you think they do.

It aint hard to get into college and the work is dumb easy. Thinking back on it, high schools did make college seem worse/harder than it really is. Im in my junior year of college and im doing the exact same %$!! i was doing in high school academic wise(the way i study, pay attention in class etc.) and still pulling A's and B's.

Oh yeah by the time i graduated from high school i had a 3.5 GPA, currently i have a 3.1
What college you go to fam ?
