Pujols is a great hitter he isn't an elite hitter, he quietly puts up solid numbers he doesn't carry a team dude.

Howard (MVP winner), Cabrera, Morneau(MVP winner), and I forgot to mention Berkman all put up similar numbers. Gonzalez is only getting betterand you can even say guys like Joey Votto will be there in a couple years. Delgado showed he can still put up big numbers last year and even though Princedidn't have a year everyone thought, he still went 276/34/102. And lets not forget Youkilis was an MVP candidate this year as well.Originally Posted by TBONE95860
Some of those guys you named off are NOT putting up these kinds of #s....Originally Posted by shake n bake718

Ryan Howard
Miguel Cabrera
Justin Morneau
Kevin Youkilis
Adrian Gonzalez
Prince Fielder
Carlos Delgado
All of them put up comparable, if not better numbers than Tex. The fact that Tex is a gold glover makes him a lil more appealing, but the fact that he plays a position that doesn't necessarily require you to have a great glove doesn't give him much of an edge over everyone else I listed. I'm not saying he aint a great player and I wouldn't want him on my team, but he's not in the elite.

WOW. You really do not know your baseball. The only one I would even consider giving you on anything would be Fielder. And that's really just for his pop.As far judging on all 5 tools, Tex surpasses all the above named players easily. Man, I hope the O's get him.
exactly and i bet that next year he has a bad yearOriginally Posted by The Wizard
So since it is across-the board accepted that he is not even the best player at his position, why are teams falling for this?
If the Nats or Orioles want to pay him 20 mil a year, let them have him. He's a player thats production can be replaced in my opinion,
