It's probably not a mass shooting by definition, but it just as easily could have been. Only difference is not enough people died to fit the definition. That's splitting hairs. We all know what the intent of dude was when he shot 8 people. Kinda splitting hairs.
Like this wasn't a mass shooting, but it was definitely intended to be:

A man who was fired Thursday from a grain services company in Nebraska returned to the facility later in the day and fatally shot two people and wounded another, police said.

By definition, it's not. Four or more dead for it to be a mass shooting. I took a homicide senior seminar in college and can vividly remember all the nuance between the criteria for different types of homicide events.

it's doesn't really matter. Someone with a gun trying to kill a bunch of people should fit the bill and each should be just as concerning.The detail that separates them is that one seemed to have been premeditated.
