There are a bunch of people who are NOT comfortable voting for someone who is a convicted felon. There were polls of moderate Republican and Independents a while ago and the % of those who would NOT vote for a felon was larger than expected. This will hurt. He'll always have his base but it's shrinking (dying off) and I also believe some of the Haley voters definitely won't vote for him now.

As a New Yorker I’ve known of Trump my whole life and he’s a scumbag. It’s why as soon as he became President the city’s residents distanced themselves from him because we knew he was going to be a **** show.

I had friends of the family close their business because they owned a construction firm and he didn’t pay his bills when they were helping build the tower he lived in. He’s like dead to many of them because of that.
