I don't think Socialist that claim to be anti-racist should be celebrating this. It is meaningless at best, counter productive at worst.
First, Carlson is a scammer pretending to care. He doesn't give a flying **** about the common man. It is and act, one he is kinda admitted to.
However, let us act like he is sincere. Tucker Carlson as openly stated he is open to left wing populist economic plans for a while now. However, he wants the system of white supremacy to be intact with it. In fact, he wants to make it more cruel and destructive than it currently is.
Socialist routinely fall into this trap of thinking "look how our economic plans can convince conservatives" when that is not what is really happening. Conservatives, especially people like Carlson, view them as useful idiots that will attack the Democratic Party from the left, bemoaning their embrace of "identity politics", saying black people are being duped by them, and talk about focusing on race divides the country. Attacks they can also make from right, with enough dog whistling for their audience to like it too.
Basically they are using leftist to validate some of their bad faith attacks against Dems, cutting them off from potential reachable voters, because they know the socialist messaging is harmless to their coalition. Too many people have been programmed to be against socialism, and those that are sympathetic to it want white supremacy too, which will sabotage any coalition building.
It is a scam.

At first, I thought Tucker Carlson is the only person I've ever seen who perpetually looks confused. Over time, I've realized he's perfected the face of the man pretending to try and understand to appear to be reasonable. He doesn't care what you think. He is the embodiment of the person who asks you questions for the sole purpose of using his question and your "opportunity to respond" as a precursor to tell you how he feels about something.

my wife is the gm of a restaurant and they all are hounding her saying she has to stop their tax payments.
she told them to EAD because they will have to pay it back anyways because trump losing so she’s saving them a step.

she told them to EAD because they will have to pay it back anyways because trump losing so she’s saving them a step.
I don’t know that Trump is losing for certain but the payroll tax holiday seemed like a horrible idea to me for the other reason your wife mentioned. I’m not sure the average beneficiary of the holiday understands that as it stands they would be required to pay it back.

yeah tbh I have my doubts of him losing and so does she. She just likes clowning this trumped out bartender.
but yeah they have to pay it back and it’s a huge pain for the managers to stop the payments so she isn’t going to. They don’t like it they can leave.
that’s how she’s feeling these days.

So here’s the catch with this tax holida. Yes the employees will have to pay it back for their earnings between 1/1/2021-4/30/2021. However if for example you quit or are fired, the company is then responsible for those taxes you deferred in 2020. Because of this, most companies aren’t allowing their employees to take advantage of it.
like my firm said they aren’t allowing people to do it. Yet half of our employees would be eligible.
