Shaq trade offical like referree with a whistle (Planet Orange in SHOCK)

The guys that are saying "we will be praising this trade later"... have you seen Shaq play recently or are you going by reputation?

The guy that I've seen play can barely back anybody down, barely can dunk, can't dominate the paint, relies on hook shots, and can't draw doubleteams. This means he won't be able to create his own shot (and if he did, this would mean slowing the offense to a crawl), will look to Nash to find him(which will be harder than for Nash to find STAT or Marion), and won't open up the shooters like you'd think.

this season...I would have only taken Yao and Dwight over him. Camby maybe. Everyone else....no.
Who you would have taken over Bynum and who is playing better than Bynum this season are two completely different things. You're obviously aLaker fan if you think he's had a better season thus far than guys like Chandler, Camby, Amare, Jefferson or Kaman. Duncan has played C quite a bit overthe last couple of years, so he definitely could fit into this conversation. Bosh logs heavy minutes at C in that Raptors lineup. Whether that's hisnatural position or not, he plays there quite a bit.

My God you cannot be serious. Not in the least bit... Dwight, Yao, Camby, Chandler, Amare (Yeah, he's been playing C), Kaman. Then you've got guys like Bosh, Boozer, Jefferson, Duncan that spend substantial amounts of time playing C. Top 3 is absolutely a reach.

Half the guys you're listing aren't even centers. Who's the one reaching? Dwight, Yao, and Amare sure. But Chandler and Camby lol. Andnobody would take Kaman over Bynum in a trade.

Thank you.
That's what I meant when I said he's fat, old, slow, and hurt.

None of those three are having better years than Bynum? Whether or not you'd take them through trade is irrelevant. They are having betteryears.

Of the guys I listed, which ones don't log heavy minutes at the C position? Boozer maybe, but that's it.

I am going to love watching Nash get the ball and run out for the break and seeShaq's fat %#! running down the court trying to catch up. Horrible trade for the Suns. They get big %#! center who is way past his prime and is ofteninjured for SHAWN MARION. Marion did all the little things for that team and was one of their few defenders down low. They just became even worse defensively. They could always score points and they will still be able to but their main problem just worsened. Good job Suns.

What am I reading?

Chandler & Camby > Bynum, THIS YEAR

How does one even argue this?

Kaman this year > Bynum, too

The only reason why nobody would trade Bynum for Kaman is because Bynum is a young big with a ton of potential.

Bynum has been beasting, don't get me wrong, but in no way shape or form is he the THIRD best C in the league.

Dude isn't even the third best C in his conference.

U Scum fans as well as the players could admire Snaq's rings cuz that 's the closest you'll get to ever winning or sniffing a title
laugh.gif

They try makin the argument of Bynum

for THIS YEAR only...

then turn the argument of who would be takin in a trade, for the future.

Hilarious.

"we have rings"
Which, when translated means: "I don't know what the hell I'm talking about so I'll bring up something completely irrelevant to this topic andhopefully you won't realize I'm talking out of my **%"

Why you think any one with a brain has said the Lakers are now a frontrunner (with SA and Dal) to get out of the West? I'll break it down for you. The Suns are a run and gun team, this trade FORCES them to change their entire offensive philosophy because Shaq will not survive in that offense. Everything is now about Shaq, not Nash, Shaq. Their entire season now hinges on someone with maybe 2 years left. Marion was also the #2 man on the team and as far as I'm concerned the most important player for their success. Yea I know Nash ran the offense but Marion almost single handedly kept them afloat with his rebounding, hustle, defense, and scoring. NO ONE else on that team did what he did. Now the Lakers have Bynum (who I've already addressed), Gasol an all star 4 who isn't selfish at all and in case you missed it he just had a monster debut (think of his production when he KNOWS the offense) and Odom who thrives when he gets to play his game...distribute. Stat can't guard anyone, Shaq is old and Diaw...is Diaw. Also remember the Lakers have Kobe who demands a double team. So how exactly do you expect this team to beat the Lakers....don't worry I'll wait.

Hmm...
Dwight Howard
Yaoming
Bosh
Camby
Al Jefferson
Chandler
Illgauskis
Dampier
Darko
Robert Swift

All are better than Bynum

Thanks NBAdotcom. I'm just hoping Darko and Swift are on there for LOLs. But point made.

#1 I don't know where you get your info from, but even with his large gravitational pull Shaq will not be the focus of the team.
#2 Bynum is in his first real productive season. How do you know he's ready for the post season coming back from this injury He isn't evenplayoff proven.
grin.gif

#3 Odom
laugh.gif
It's something new every year I swear. I guess it'shis time because he has plenty of people to "distribute" to right? Riiiight
eyes.gif
. He isn't going to do a damn thing and you know it.

#4 Marion will be missed, but do you seriously believe the Suns are doomed because he's gone? You must be on that Britney Spears.
#5 Once Gasol proves something, then we can address him. I mean he has a great playoff record, clearly.

I'm not slow
indifferent.gif
. You're just MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD.

i think all of us are just excited at the potential that bynum has, especially with all the changes that have been made...

Or how other guy's 'aren't really C's.'
laugh.gif
Exactly. I don't care if you'd trade Bynum for them or not. That wasn't what you were arguing. And I don't care if they'aren't really centers'. I care about whether or not they play there more often than not. As is the case with every guy I mentioned with theexception or maybe Boozer.

And you no doubt should be. If he comes back and plays at the level he was early in the year, he'll no doubt benefit from having a guy likePau next to him to draw double-teams and extra attention. But Top 3 C in the league? Not this year.

Wow, how are you PHX Suns fans feeling about this? I'm not trying to insult you guys, I'm being serious.
Second,
laugh.gif
@ the thought of Shaq running with the Suns. By the time theSuns offense scores. Shaq is just crossing half court.

The problem is that after a few good games, the majority of Fakers fans on this board were putting Bynum into the Mikan, Wilt, Kareem, Shaq line.
If you got all your sports info from this board you'd think that Bynum was already in the hall of fame.

well, fellow lakers fans get very excited at potential and the future. bynum has grown and looked good this year, but putting him into the hall of fameis a bit too much. but i don't blame them for getting excited at how a player looks on their team. im sure when you saw amare early on you got excited aswell.

Amare does nothing in the hole but dunk absolutely no D, haven't really watched Jefferson so I won't comment, and IMO Bynum right now was playingon the same level as Kaman and Chandler...on both sides of the ball. It's not purely a stat thing so don't try that. Had Bynum not gotten hurt I couldhave seen him taking that C spot in the all-star game. Of course it's speculation and opinion but had he not gotten injured and kept up his play thereisn't a doubt in my mind he would have gotten the nod instead of Amare. Or maybe they would have put Amare in David West's slot and gave him that spot.Either way at the time he was healthy there were 2 centers playing better than him....everyone else was either at the same level or under.

they? aye don't throw all of us into this....
exactly. I dont really understand this trade though. This completely flip-flops the entire Suns game plan meaning this team will take time toadjust to the change. Granted their is still a half a season to adjust, but what if this trade doesnt work this year. Then you have a 36 year old Shaq with afat contract and an aging Nash with a bad back. Kerr will look amazing if this trade works, but for some reason I just think Shaq is too far gone.

I'm sorry but your opinion from here on out is null and void.

If Bynum hadn't gotten hurt he would have taken that C spot in the All-Star game?

If Camby + Chandler didn't make it, there is no way that Bynum would have.

Again, Bynum is a nice young big who has been playing well, but let's not get carried away here.
