STAY/GET BACK IN SHAPE VOL 3.0 -- A New Niketalk = A New Thread

Take time to get used to IF. At first I felt like I couldn't lift on an empty stomach. Eventually you get used to it though. Make sure you stay hydrated though.

Im impressed with the 225 bench and 90 dbs.

Ive never been quite able to figure out the neck thing with benching (ive got a hunch) but i see nothing wrong with the lift

Props.

So taking supps like pre and post and whey wont mess it up if its before the eating window?

The trainers at my gym are so god damn annoying.

Just cause you're training someone doesn't give you precedent over equipment or space in the gym

Take BCAAs to minimize the catabolism. Some people workout fasted, proven to burn more calories that way but again until you get used to it you might be lacking energy and groggy and most importantly don't want to muscle-waste overdoing it. If you just really want to jump into it, look into Joel Marion's programs, esp "The Fastest Fat Loss Week Ever," or something like that. It's IF every other day plus hellish workouts

I swear some "trainer" tried to run 8 of us off the basketball court so he could run drills with a little kid. Luckily another hoop opened up so they went to that one.

I haven't seen anybody tell somebody they need to leave a station, but I have seen some monopolize equipment.

On the other hand, I've also had a trainer that was doing Olympic lifts in front of a power rack tell me I could grab another bar and use the power rack for squats while he did his lifts in front of it.

I was using the rope tricep extension and the dude just came up and grabbed it off the cable.

I didn't have my head phones in or my phone out.

I was like excuse me, what are you doing?

[emoji]128064[/emoji], so what happen after you ask? Did anyone shoulders get clapped ?

 wtf man.

Yesterday I found an anytime with a dl station and plastic weights. First time seeing that at an anytime.

Stopped back squatting for a week to let my hip flexor heal a bit. Hit chest and legs yesterday and for legs:

Leg press (max 4 plates each side for a deep rep)
Lunges with a 60lb straight curl bar
Hamstring/glute extensions

I go fairly low on back squats, parallel at the least and today my legs/*** are FEELING it more than usual. I felt like crap having to be off back squats but if I feel like this after that small routine then gainz will not be lost. :smokin

I only take aminos and alphamine while fasted. Not sure about what you can take. I don't use whey anymore though. I try to eat more protein; I'll use whey isolate of anything.

just remember that IF is just a tool to help keep cals in check while providing better satiety and the mental comfort of eating bigger meals. you still have to keep your cals under maintenance. the fast doesn't accelerate fat burning or target bodyfat. i've had good and bad experiences. sticking to my meal plan was great. lost weight nicely. eating whatever i wanted in a 6 hour window didn't work for me. when mealtime finally rolled around, i would eat like a pig and keep going. each monday when i weighed myself, either i gained weight or didn't lose anything. finally i just stopped. bottom line: cals in vs cals out.

It's a little bit more complicated than Cals in vs Cals out, but that is a good start.

IMO, understanding your macros is a bit more important.

There are a ton of nutrition plans out there, trial and error is probably the best way to find out which works for you. Find the one that will help you attain your goal and is sustainable for long term health and results.

Any of y'all ever get stretchmarks? Is there anything else I can do besides rubbing cocoa butter on them daily?

Both my biceps are littered with stretchmarks from back when I started lifting ~5 years ago and put on lots of noobie gains.

I can no longer exercise due to my genetic metabolic disorder (CPT-2 deficiency) and haven't been to the gym in ~2 years but I recently got a whole bunch of new stretchmarks. My biceps and calf muscles have grown significantly the past few months despite a minimum amount of activity. The specialists say it's "pseudohypertrophy" but they're not entirely sure why it's happening.

Either way I now have a few new stretchmarks on both biceps and all over my calves.

Is there anything else I can do besides cocoabutter?

That's pretty much all you can do. Genetics plays a huge role in this. Some people are more prone than others to get stretch marks.

There's not much you can do about stretch marks. Some of the creams and treatments do a decent job of fading the red or purple coloring but none of them are able to lift the indented skin back to normal.

Bruh.. they see me come in and hit the punching bag for 5 rounds at the same time every single day, yet they still set up their session equipment RIGHT UNDER THE BAG.

I have to ask them to move it all the time, and I feel like a bother even though I just want to use the punching bag. There's so much more space to use like 10 feet away from the bag (there's a huge free area) but they still choose right there and I don't know why.

I had to ask this one chick trainer if I could use the bag one time, (insinuating she move) and she responded by saying "Well, we're using this space.. but we can move." They don't even use the punching bag b. Just the floor space under it.

I smiled, but in my mind I was like

700

Any one here have or use a rower regularly? Thinking of picking one up and wanted to know if it's that big of a difference from a $400 rower to a $900 rower
