PICTURED: Savannah chiropractor accused of leaving woman, 28, paralyzed after 'snapping four arteries in her neck' as Georgia Southern graduate's mother says she's starting to regain some movement in her leg and arm - and gave her a thumbs up
Yea... Another reason why I have nevered trusted a chiropractor
as far as i know, there is no basis for it actually being an effective treatment for much of anything…the placebo affect/effect of the human mind is real tho, so maybe that is the main utility of most of alternative medicine. it sucks because people that go for these alternatives usually either can’t afford or have not been able to solve their issue with conventional medicine…
while I understand the concern regarding this form of medical practice, it does hold true with any forms of medical practices. be it pharmacists giving the wrong medication or doses, doctors performing or misdiagnosing conditions and others. not trying to defend the malpractice but rather saying that it is a risk regardless of which medical practice is performed. that is why we are always given waivers if ever certain issues arises. of course, this is different from total negligence which pretty much void the waiver safeguard.
it is tough getting a competent doctor, dentist, physiologist, chiropractor and others. in my entire history of going to chiropractors, I have only encountered 2 out of 10 practitioners that were able to fix my problems.
granted modern science has yet to have a complete/full understanding of the body and there might indeed be some forgotten wisdom in ancient/alternative/traditional medicinal practices but thing is with chiropractors, what even constitutes ‘malpractice’ when the whole practices is questionable?
