If he’s taking an obsessive amount of time on the 1 rack I’d maybe ask him if you could work in, or find another gym you’re fine paying for that has more than 1 rack.
Waiting is a killer and impatience is a bother. I woul do something else while the rack or any machine is available. I also get annoyed by people that couldn't wait for you to finish like you just barely caught your breath after finishing one of your sets and some dude just comes up wanting you to get up immediately. I give the stink eye whenever someone does that and they remember immediately where their place is.You gon die if you wait or do something else?

if hes benching in the only squat rack then he gotta pack up and move to the bench.
lol there's no setup for barbell bench. Plenty of benches, just no rack for the barbell . That's what led me to wonder if it'd be more convenient for him (and me lol) to just do dumbbell bench. Plus there's no risk of him getting pinned with DBs

I'm saying though, you can't choose a gym with limited equipment then make up fake nice passive aggressive scenarios instead of waiting your turn or finding another.
