I could trade you for that since my appetite just went overdrive. maybe it has something to do with age and intensity? I knew when I was in my late 20s and early 30s that once I'm done with my activities, I was just so tired that hunger doesn't even register in my brain. all I wanted was to lie down and sleep til the following day.the worst thing about prepping for a powerlifting comp is that I have zero appetite after training bc I'm so tired.
Getting in these protein is a struggle.
9 weeks out.
whatever this nagging pain was/is finally got me…after a good session too with no issues…back on injured reserve
I remember the first time I blew my knee. A girl was chasing me in a game of tag. Before that, I was already having issues with my knee like weakness and discomfort. Ran and jumped like normal, then my knee just buckled up. Possibly one of the worst pain experiences I had as I was screaming in agony while the rest of my crew were just staring at me like a b. Went home hobbled and couldn't walk for 3 days and saw there was internal bleeding and still didn't goo to the hospital. Dealed with it for more than a decade and progressively deteriorated with increasing pain and lock-ups til it finally popped. Turns out I had a partial acl tear that I didn't take care of. I was thinking it maybe due wearing compression knee pads for longer periods without removing them. Also, it was my jumping knee.
. You and me buddy. I only got into so much food not til I was in my mid 30s. Other than that, never had problem putting up mass and I don't really need to eat that much to gain.If I had one wish in life I think it would be to be one of those frail dudes that struggle putting on weight just because I love food so ****ing much and my metabolism slow as **** and I got wide hips pause
The end
After 12+ years. Only because I couldn't walk anymore. Took me 2 years to rehab since I've lost half my leg mass post rehab. I didn't have a good rehab team and had to do the work on my own. Even my surgeon was a jack***.sheesh, that’s intense…so did you get your acl repaired?
4 people were shot at 24hr fitness.
1 dead, 3 injured
I’ve seen a few fights/disagreements happen at the gym.
Surprised it’s not more. I stay far away from that energy and would just walk away from any argument or issue.
I’m not scrapping in a place surrounded by potential weapons….
fight do break out. some petty arguments, roasting, trash talks or aggressive play. some out of frustration of losing. even in leagues that I played in have atleast an incident happening. it is pretty much a common factor. as far as workout gym goes, it's not common but does happen.A few? Does your gym have a basketball court
My LA fitness used to have a fight or at least huge argument break out like every other point. I swear pick up games were always so intense for no reason. One time a dude fired shots, fled, and the game carried on

s*** can go crazy. I guess it's the nature of the sport.I've seen a fight break out during a pick up game in NYC at a public park
It's crazy how people take pick up basketball so seriously

while you have a point there, it doesn't just occur in pick-up games with strangers. it can also occur in official games with teammates and friends as well and with enforcers of the rules. even a simple and innocent fun game can turn violent. it can be unpredictable.it’s not really that folk take pickup hoop seriously or the ‘nature’ of the sport per se…altho maybe there is more to argue about due to some of the subjective things and the mix of various different skill levels with pickup ball.
the reason pickup hoops can be so volatile is really, in my opinion, due to the ‘nature’ of men, especially being engaged in a directly competitive, fairly unorganized endeavor/environment amongst what are for the most part essentially strangers…men are generally more competitive, more disagreeable, more willing to challenge or stand on an opinion, and more prone to result to violent action(s). if pickup football or soccer were more common in the states there’d likely be a similar instances
that anyone could pull to any court a get in a game with strangers and it goes smooth is something of a minor miracle . pickup hoops is kinda unique in this aspect, i can’t think of another recreational sport wherein strangers routinely can get together quite randomly and are able to play a competitive game so loosely. generally every other recreational sport almost requires a level of camaraderie, familiarity, &/or organization just to get enough people together to play…with pickup you have a bunch of guys that don’t know each other engaged in direct competition, who actually haven’t agreed to any set of rules of engagement/play in a sport that has fairly subjective qualities with almost a gross lack of organization (who keeps/makes sure of the score, how to decide disputed calls, or the acceptable level of physicality)? so much is up to the self organization/regulation of the mix of individual personalities that things can easily devolve into the kind of unnecessary bickering that leads to stupid confrontations
