The Official Tennis Thread (Vol. 2024 US Open)

thiem with his first major... im happy for him he deserves it... cant believe he came back 2 sets down

All the competition wasn't there

I could understand if you feel that way if a #10 seed won, but don't discredit Thiem. The dude is #2 in the world. He beat Fed in the Indian Wells Championships last year. He's beaten Rafa and Novak multiple times at a high level. This win most definitely counts.

Probably for the best, Naomi doesn't play Roland-Garros well to begin with. Then you factor in short turnaround, nagging hammy, lack of clay prep.

If you forced me to pick a winner RN, I'd go with Pliskova. Kontaveit my dark-horse selection.

rafa not looking good right now... i hope this doesnt effect his play at roland garros

aepps20 aepps20 will you be supporting the French Open this year?

watching my man muzz play probably his only match of the tournament against Stan rn :frown:

No, these tournaments are a scam and a money grab. The fact that they have fans is disgusting. I don't care who wins any of these "majors".

Thiem on the verge of an epic collapse. 8o

Was up 2 sets to 0, and now Gaston is a service hold away from forcing a fifth set.

Pretty crazy 19-year-old Iga did Halep like that. 70-minute match. I know Swiatek won the FO as a junior but sheesh, light work.

Jabeur vs. DRC in AM. :emoji_fire:

Gaston's performance in the match against Thiem was top notch.

Lots of surprising results in the tournament for both the men and women.

Great effort from Schwartzman to beat Thiem, really representing the small guys. :smokin

Nah, not for me. But I know it will for some people.

Have a lot of guys opted out of the French or most healthy people played?
