It is easy to see how these actions are a result of what's been done to them by foreign powers. If someone came into your home and completely trashed it,and stole all your food so you're left with nothing to survive on, wouldn't you want to fight back?

The Somalian government is non-existent, so the only way the locals can resist foreigners polluting and looting their land is to take matters into their ownhands and resort to piracy.

So although the act of piracy is wrong in itself, if you look at the underlying cause, it isn't a black or white, good vs. evil issue. If foreignersdidn't come in and take all the fish, the Somalian people wouldn't be starving and most likely, this wouldn't be an issue.

There is some truth to this article. Alot of the fishing boats that have been seized have simply no business being in those waters, hence therelunctance of the respective govts. to free their sailors, etc..
