grimey as hell. amex generated close to $8 billion in profits in 2021. i get that this would be a big financial pill to swallow but what's the point of using their CC if they can't be trusted to protect you from fraud?

bad look on their part. do they assume that the sneaker community is small and that this won't garner much negative attention?

Thats almost certainly it. All those shoes were originally available for preorder, and there arent any new releases for sale by the eBay seller.
