If...and I mean IF he has the opportunity to play in the NFL again, that would be a bonus.
You think that Vick had more weapons to work with than Aikman had?Originally Posted by Emmanuel Goldstein

True it's not the right or exclusive priviledge for Vick or anyone else for that matter to play in the NFL but at the same time how much more does Vick has to suffer for his crime?? In all aspects when dealing with punishment, most rationale people look at the severity of the incident/crime in question. With regards to Vick and the majority here in S &T, most people will tell you that Vick has suffered enough already, it's time to move on from the mistakes of the past and give the man a 2nd chance. What's done is done. It's time for people to stop playing judge, juror and executioner.

you think the nfl wants PETA messing around with their business (advertisers)?
someone tell me why vick should be allowed in the nfl without using moral justifications (eg. every man deserves a 2nd chance, which I think he deserves).
Think of it from a purely business standpoint. I don't see the pros outweighing the cons.
You and any other NFL executive that thinks like this is giving PETA way more power than they truly have. Generally speaking the people that are members ofPETA or even agree wholeheartedly with their organization agenda probably aren't even regular NFL fans to begin with. With that in mind, who cares whatPETA tries to do. You really think if Vick plays again in the NFL that PETA is going to strongarm companies like Budweiser, Miller, Coors, Cialis, UnderArmour, Nike, or Viagra from advertising with the NFL, even though these companies spend the most money advertising with the NFL............keep dreamingchamp. PETA simply doesn't have that kind of power, at least not with the NFL or the vast majority of it's fans. Whether you want to believe it ornot, Vick can still draw a crowd, and from an owners perspective it's all about putting +*!!$ in the seats. Vick can do this, now it's up to a team totry their luck with Vick. Forget about PETA or any other clown that might be marching outside of a stadium with demands for Vick to leave, the bottom line isVick can give a subpar team a chance to win, and winning generates money.
Also, if you don't want me to give moral justifications as to why Vick should be allowed back in the NFL whatjustifications would you like for me to give??

pros-
sells jerseys
incredible exciting player, (if he's the same)
puts fans in the seats (depending on the state)
cons-
peta will mess with the advertisers (I have huge problems with the organization. they kill more animals than they save, but they are pretty damn efficient and should not be taken lightly.
media s---storm that will come. You do not want to deal with protestors outside your teams stadium EVERY SINGLE SUNDAY. It's just distracting
when will he be ready to perform?
I like the breakdown you just gave. Even with that in mind I still say that there is no way PETA can shut down the companies I listed in my previous post. Those are some heavy hitters and PETA is small potatoes compared to those businesses. The NFL, Nike, Viagra, Budweiser, etc. are powerhouse's, PETA isNOT, simply put.
